The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

I don't see that ever happening.

At some point they won't have a choice. I've seen some attendance breakdowns for a few recent dates and the amount of APs is staggering. APs don't spend as much as day guests. Disney would be wise to make the 1 day ticket not so insanely out of control expensive and jack up the price on APs while removing the monthly payment option (at least on Premium).

During the 50th anniversary celebration, 1 day 1 park tickets were over $30 less than they are now. That's nucking futs.

Those are primer colors. They go back and add a color wash and aging to it and it becomes something entirely different.

Does anyone know why they removed part of the face of the box and installed some sort of metal plate in its place? It was not there before the repaint:

Looks like Disneyland is trying to reduce the number of Southern California Passports. According to the Disneyland website, the Southern California Passport has been discontinued and can only be used for renewals. The Southern California Select pass can now be purchased again. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Disneyland is trying to get less people to visit the parks on the weekend?

DLR would like to become more of a destination resort and less of a local hangout. They know they can't radically swing the pendulum too far or too fast, so they will try to price people from the local population out.

Will that have the desired effect or will the locals that are being priced out simply cut costs elsewhere in the parks or out to make up the difference?

My guess - it won't matter. Quality is still high and people will come.

I would pay $1,000+ for a Premium pass. In my opinion, all the passes are steals, especially Premium with the parking and ability to go every day and do monthly payments. Even without monthly payments, it's a steal. When I moved to California with the intention of going to Disneyland for the rest of my life, I was pretty shocked how attainable that goal was. I thought it would be a disaster. Thanks, Disney!

off topic, but this is how I feel about the WDW AP. 100 bucks a month for my family and I? (there's three of us) Unlimited admission to 4 great parks? That's awesome.

Yes but would paying the whole amount up front make a difference? For a lot of families it would price them out to pay the whole fee up front.

They're definitely going to be mounting something big on the front of the boxes. You can see the mounting points on the top of the metal plate. These new effects should be fun!
