Not sure if this was ever mentioned, but when I saw Pixar Play Parade on Saturday, before it started there was music/some kind of dance instructions mentioning the Diamond Celebration.

It sounded like it was meant to accompany some preshow to the parade with performers. There was nothing but the audio though, so the whole thing felt a little awkward.

Edit: found a video of at least part of it: youtube
Again, sorry if it's been around for a while.

Oh! This makes sense now.

When I went to the park to ride Soarin', I saw some crowd control CM's teaching the audience these dance moves before the parade. It looked like an exercise routine or something, but the kids loved it. Then this music played and the audience did it along with the CM's.

That video above has the same musical instructions, but I don't see any CM's helping near the Mermaid ride here.

It's definitely something new. I've never seen them do this before.

We were standing at the fountain on Buena Vista on Saturday. Had a view of the parade coming from Hollywoodland, but no CMs in sight.

The new Soarin' just felt like I was watching it on someone's big screen LCD TV, and this person also happened to have floating chairs in their living room. I kinda think it looked better before, even though there was print damage and lines in the screen. It's clearer. I mean, it really does appear to be Eisner hitting the golf ball. But somehow, it felt less imposing than I remember the old version being.

I find the decorations on Carthay a lot more tasteful then the Decorations the castle got. Also, this may be a stupid questions but are the diamond toppers on carthay and the castle going to be lit up at night ?

I'm curious to see it in person, when I upgraded my theater to 1080p a few years ago I bought a LCD projector and replaced it with a DLP projector after only 2 days. The LCD looked amazing for TV but I hated how it looked for movies, too crisp. Film has a certain look that is hard to describe but when it looks "off" you know it. I'm hoping I don't have the same reaction to the new Soarin, I've been very excited about the upgrade and no longer seeing gridlines and dirt.

I agree , I still enjoy the newer version but I felt I was more immersed in the old one.

I've been thinking gang...

We started this thread a few months ago to track the news and installation of 60th stuff in advance of the party. But in a few days the 60th will begin and it will be time to close this thread down. @raven24, @GiveMeTheMusic, @sponono88 and all the others who have been so helpful with news and links and chat, what if we did this?...

Start three separate new threads for the major new additions that will have everyone talking? Something like these;

  1. Paint The Night - Post your reviews, videos and thoughts
  2. World of Color Celebrate - Post your reviews, videos and thoughts
  3. Disneyland Forever - Post your reviews, videos and thoughts

I think those are the three things that people will really be talking about, and will want info about, so when old and new folks come to this board they can find what they're looking for and we can keep the discussion flowing easily.

I imagine there will be discussion about the new Matterhorn and some other 60th stuff, but we can just let those topics get started on their own. But I think the three new entertainment offerings will generate a lot of discussion and photos and videos, and it might be wise to start a new thread for each. Sound like a plan?

Why not just let this thread keep going? It's not too specific about any one topic like the previous thread was, it'd be easier that way so that everything's in one place instead of a bazillion different threads, does that make sense?
