As for letting trees grow and become more beautiful every year:

Don't worry, it will. It always does. Since 1955. :)

"I've always wanted to work on something alive, something that keeps growing. I've got that in Disneyland, even the trees will grow and be more beautiful every year." -Walt Disney

.

Until an executive comes along with the brilliant idea that they should be removed for better sightlines and castle projections, and a spectacular "hub redevelopment." Not sure why I might think that could ever happen. It never could, right? They've never done that in any of their parks, have they?

I thought Soarin' looked better, but somehow underwhelming at the same time.

Well... it's still a 15 year old movie shot with even older equipment. Only so much a digital HD transfer can do -- and in some cases, it may even make some of the more dated elements more obvious. Haven't seen it yet, but I'm definitely keeping my expectations in check.

Edit: Just read the write-up on Micechat and it sounds like the colors are all outta whack on the digital version. Not sure if it's on the transfer itself, the projection, or just one of the unfortunate downsides of moving from real film to digital. Sounds like for all the new pros with HD digital projection there are an equal amount of cons that come along with it. Hopefully they will find a way to iron out these kinks and not just let it be after all the work that went into this project.

I've got a trip to DLR already on the books for late August and I'm going to WDW again in 2 weeks... why is it that I've been checking flights to SNA all morning.

Oh that's right, I've been reading. I have a feeling that the rest of this week will be a very, very hard one on my wallet.

New cups at the Disneyland Resort restaurants/snacks shops are available. I don't remember the last time I saw cups at the parks with solely "Disneyland" and/or "California Adventure" labeled on them and not "Disney Parks." Sad that it took a special event to see "Disneyland" back on the cups.

Nice! I was surprised to recently get a souvenir popcorn bucket solely dedicated to Goofy's Sky School. Was nice to have something exclusive to DLR... but also made me wonder, why pick Goofy's Sky School of all the things to feature on the bucket?!

Really??? Do you happen to have a photo of it? I'd like to see that. And yes, Goofy's Sky School is an odd choice, but I truly appreciate the lack of generality!
