It just seems like people grasping at essentially nothing so they have some reason to get excited about something.

For the record, I was making fun of those who thought there would be new ride vehicles. Never once did I expect or believe or even remotely think that new ride vehicles would be a part of this.I don't understand the complaining that we're not getting new ride vehicles when that has never been a commonplace thing that Disney ever did to any ride, unless safety updates needed to be made
Do you have evidence in support?
Corporate sponsorship isn't necessarily the windfall most people expect. Just look at the case study in sponsorship failure for the Glass Pyramids. I don't think GM blasted open the funding spigot on this one.
I have a lurking feeling that TT Version 3 is going to over rely on nostalgia for WOM, just done on the CHEAP, with all of the interesting things in TT 1.0 and 2.0 stripped out. In other words we're headed for "Journey Into Your Imagination" Territory.
@monthingie I don’t have insider information but The fact that GM has spent quite a bit of money on the last 3 things in this space would seem to point towards them doing it again. And by glass pyramids do you mean the ones at imagination? Or something else that I’m not aware of? @Dranth now this is a fair observation but again I point to the fact that the last 3 things in this space were very expensive and each time GM had been sponsoring the pavilion for long enough to know the value of the sponsorship and whether or not it was worth it to renewMaybe, but if the Chair/CEO of GM wasn't on the Disney board, they likely would have already dropped sponsorship so I don't know how much they could/would be willing to invest. Most corporations just don't like dumping money into low ROI endeavors, nor can they get away with it without push back from stockholders. It is why EPCOT lost most of its sponsors in the first place.
Hopefully I am wrong, but I would be surprised if GM went overboard on this. Doesn't mean it will be a bad update, I just think people should temper their expectations a bit.
TT 2.0 opened 3 years after GM filed for Chapter 11 and was reorganized. At the time I believe there was controversy over the use of bailout funding being used. TT 2.0 was done on the cheap. GM is a different company than it was 15 years ago, while certainly stronger, it is no longer the powerhouse that it had been in the last century. It remains to be seen if GM contributed the bare minimum or splurged on this.@monthingie I don’t have insider information but The fact that GM has spent quite a bit of money on the last 3 things in this space would seem to point towards them doing it again. that’s true except I disagree that test track 2.0 was done on the cheap. While I have a petty grudge against it I don’t see how it was done on the cheap. As for test track 3.0 I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. I don’t have super high expectations like they are going to rebuild any world of motion sets I do think people will be pleasantly surprised by how much better it will be then the current one.TT 2.0 opened 3 years after GM filed for Chapter 11 and was reorganized. I think it’s fair to argue that the ride vehicles were in need of a replacement or upgrade. For an attraction that still experiences as much downtime as it does (even non-weather related), I’d have to guess that the vehicles are one of the culprits. Please correct me if I’m wrong. But why would they need to make new ride vehicles when there’s nothing wrong with the old ones? Seems like a waste of everyone’s time to build entirely new ride vehicles when there was no issues with the existing ones. I’d much rather them focus on the attraction experience than waste money on updating an element that didn’t need updating.
This just seems like complaining for the sake of complaining.

Nominee for the best post of 2025Let me save everyone the suspense, this update is going to stink just like everything else they have done in the past 5 years. I was in Disney last week checking out the new EPCOT retheme, amazingly underwhelming and boring...adds nothing to the park and it took 5 years. Also, Tiana's bayou adventure may be the worst thing ive ever ridden in a Disney theme park....even worse than runaway railways

I'm so forward of the new Test Track 3.0 at Epcot! They seem so … excited

I would love to hear some insider knowledge on this, but I would guess that cars physically breaking down is not a "major" problem.I think it’s fair to argue that the ride vehicles were in need of a replacement or upgrade.
