In a new press release, Disney now says Test Track will reopen in "late 2025":

Guests visiting EPCOT are in for an exciting ride when Test Track presented by General Motors opens in late 2025. Walt Disney Imagineering is working together with General Motors to push innovation forward with this reimagined attraction, celebrating the evolution of mobility over the last 100-plus years while highlighting the past, present and future. Work on this reimagined experience is already underway.

Intresting how they say it’s presented by GM. Was that just a slip up or is Chevrolet not the main sponsor anymore?

Also, with GMs rebrand a few years back, it seems like it is (or at least the intended appearance of it) is for GM to be a sleeker and more modern brand, much in the same way Chevrolet was a sleeker brand than GM in 2012. Also, considering GM got all the federal bailout, presented by Chevrolet probably sounded better than GM for positive brand recognition.

This allows them to present other GM brands in their showroom again, probably a good move
Do we think they’re going back to GM as the sponsor? Would be an interesting choice as they’ve already marketed it as staying under the Chevy brand. I wouldn’t read into press releases saying they’re working with GM because naturally they would be, Chevy is just a GM division

Edit: Didn’t realize they’re saying “presented by General Motors” now. Strange choice of words, maybe they are going back to the whole thing being under GM
What was the original projected opening date? That info wasn't mentioned in the article from WDWMagic.
There was never an announced date other than 2025. People speculated summer, but that was just speculation.

It’s sounding like this really is going to embody the spirit of World of Motion in some form or another, a little stunned that they’re actually leaning into it. I can’t imagine It’s Fun to be Free isn’t resurrected in some form if they’re going this hard on the “evolution of mobility” theme

A part of me worries that they’ll lean a bit too hard into WOM. Test track’s core idea at the end of the day is testing a car. The only thing that changed between 1.0 and 2.0 was the environment and tests, with 1.0 testing physical elements of a car on a physical test track, and 2.0 testing design elements of a car in a digital test track. They haven’t really emphasized the testing aspect of 3.0 to my knowledge. I hope they don’t remove it since at that point it’s not really test track anymore. Which would be a shame.

It's sounding like the testing theme has been de-emphasized if not removed outright. The Test Track name has probably been retained just for brand recognition.
