News Test Track to be reimagined

If they’re taking inspiration from WOM, an easy concept to execute on could be “here’s the old ways travel” just like WOM, and then goes through the years of transportation, and then right before the outdoor speed section, it transitions into “now we’re entering a new age era electric super cars” and then let it rip on the exterior. Would be an improvement over the current silliness. Best of both world IMHO. Adds reason and depth to the interior scenes, while still being a thrill ride.

Amazing news for a flagship ride that needs some love. TT was in disrepair my last trip with the audio cutting in and out, the vehicles in rough shape, the timing of the effects being off, and the door before the final outdoor portion just remaining wide open…. Just beyond regular maintenance, the addition of physical set pieces and nostalgic nod to its roots is a huge win in my book.

I think it will be a return to form for Epcot. They’ll likely combine WOM, Magic Skyway, and Test Track into a single cohesive attraction that races you through the history of transportation before ‘launching’ you into the future. Extra points if they can squeeze a dinosaur or two into the opening scenes. This will likely become the headliner for the park if it combines old and new to become the ultimate Epcot attraction

Perfect fan service and delivering for Epcot purists. No IP, a return to form to World of Motion, addressing an aging ride before letting it literally rot?

I’ve heard complaints by some Epcot purists, but outside of Figment, this is probably the best thing they could’ve announced. HUGE win that wasn’t on anyone’s radar.

I love the design your own vehicle part of the current Test Track. But I feel like it hasn’t worked properly in a long time once you’re on the ride. -and the last time I rode, the ride was in rough shape. The “Tron” inspired aesthetic also now feels repetitive with a literal Tron attraction in Magic Kingdom.

So I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with during this overhaul.

Because Test Track is just a way better ride than World of Motion ever was.

Someone has to say it.

Oh good god no. World of Motion was one of the 10 or so best attractions that have ever existed at WDW. Test Track is fine (although the original version was better than the current one) and a much better replacement than most other things done at EPCOT, but it doesn't hold a candle to WoM.

Still, this is a solid announcement. Obviously there are other things that need addressing more (Imagination and Wonders of Life being top of the list, but they're not the only things), but this could be interesting.

Eh, while I’m very happy with this, “best” is a strong word when you have Spaceship Earth, Imagination, and Wonders of Life teetering on the edge of collapse.
That’s kind of how I feel. This is great news, but it came out of nowhere. People have been clamoring for classic Epcot to make a return with endless calls for horizons and the OG Imagination, but they end up giving us a WOM/Test Track hybrid that sounds awesome, but seemed to be the last thing on anyone’s radar
