Something else that I noticed is still down too... is the thermal imaging! Infact, I don't think i've seen this working since the first time I rode it back sometime around 1999/2000

Wow. They must be much brighter now. I never remember seeing them. I thought they looked great.
Yup! Always been there.

I certainly hope the audio was working...

The past three times I've ridden test track the monitors in the cars have been defunct, and the audio narration would repeatedly loop "Alright....Alright...Alright..." until the end when it finally got back to "thanks for being a great test crew. Come back and ride anytime. Bye."

Believe me, the ride feels much less fun when there's no "engine reving" noises.

It has always amazed me the difficulty of which Disney has had keeping a ride like Test Track online. On the surface, it seems simple, but when you begin to think about it, it becomes clear that using "real" cars as ride vehicles isn't the greatest idea.
Sometimes, a car will go around saying "left" over and over and over again throughout the whole ride. HORRIBLE experience! So consider yourself lucky! ;)

The videos, I think, aren't essential to the attraction. Audio, most definitely. I just wish they'd turn them off if only a few of them are going to have them... Like when the front seat has one while the back doesn't. Last time I was there, they seemed to be turning off the video screens that looked bad (multi colored, lines, etc). Not sure if they were doing that on purpose or if they were just going off.

The thermal imaging camera has worked every time we have visited since it opened - 99,00,01,02,04 - always made sure to wave!

I wonder what those guest thought about the rehab last night, when the car went from 60 to 0 in like 2 sends and had to be evacuated from the car into the parking lot...Sheeeesh Did they not do anything to the functionality of the ride and only painted and cleaned it?

but then again folks we are talking about GM here.

Hahah, so true, so true. To think that I was disapointed that I didn't get to ride in a GM vehicle on my recent trip (we left wed. morning) I got to drive my own vehicle 85mph all the way home

No one is ever evacuated into the parking lot.

Thermal imaging has always worked for me too. I dont remember the sparks though. Ive only seen the car hit the barrier once too.

Anyway, is that thing in the que working where it lifts that thing up and drops it on a hood? It was gone last time I went.

Cant wait to ride TT again. Its been too long (6 months).

so weird... just so happens that the thermal image has not shown up for my last 3 vists to TT... in 2002, 2004 and last wednesday.

On wednesday, I was in the first group to get on in the morning... probably somewhere around 10-15th in line to get into the car... and the imaging was off.

after I got off, I went and got a fastpass for around 10:10, and when I got around that time too imaging was off.

Guess it's just bad timing over the last 6 years! LOL It always seemed odd to me that they'd still play the "while they are heated up.... " track when there was never anything on the screen!

Also, I too never noticed the projections on the lift hill before I went on this week... am I just blocking this out of my head, or did they turn the lights up to make them more visible now?

Something else I noticed this time that I don't remember from previous trips, is when they slow you down at the end. It's a VERY jerky stop. As in the slow you down a bit, let off the breaks, slow you down some more, let off the breaks, etc etc...

The drop silo wont be making a return as far as I know.

The jerkiness of the stop all depends upon how many cars are backed up into the station/dispatch/etc. If there aren't many in there (ie. the car is the first in the train), it wont jerk to a stop. If it's towards the back of the train of 4 cars, it will jerk because it's having to stop at a spot further out. Make any sense?

I remember once my car stopped on the curve around the building. I was keep on thinking that we were going to get rear ended.
 The cars are designed to never get within a certain distance from one another. Unless you had people coming out to work on your car, it was probably the car in front of you that had stopped.
