Test Track refurb???

That’s when you come to the first set of auto doors and greeted by a CM, they are going to stage you for the next room, they hand out the RFID cards to everyone. There 2 design studios each has 34 design stations. So they line you up on a number in pre briefing room and show a video about how to use to the design computer. If you don’t want to design a vehicle, they will allow up to 3 people on each design station, but there will be only one design and all 3 people will have the same design. There are 3 time limits on the design studio depending on how busy it is. You either have 9, 7, or 5 minutes to design it and when you are done you swipe your RFID card to save your design.
At 9 minutes, the preshow stations are used 6,6 times per hour. At five minutes, twelve times. That's assuming the 09/7/5 mintues are the full cycle, including downtime to change from one user to the next.

Nine minutes:
68*6,6 = 453 per hour. Up to 1360 if three persons per station.
Five minutes:
68*12 = 816 per hour. Up to 2448 if three persons per station.

At the highest capacity setting of five minutes, the pre-show then has a capacity of 816 to 2448.
TT the ride itself has about 1500-1800 ride capacity, usually closer to 1500.

On a complete hunch, I think Disney estimates an average of 1,5 persons per station. So a pre-show output of 816 * 1,5 = 1224. That's not too bad. Fastpass and Single Rider would account, roughly, for about a third of riders then.

Plus the picture below was previously linked but an article I read elaborated that the screens on the left and right of the track... bottom of the hill... are scattered throughout to show your design as if if they were 'mirrors'... which reminds me of the mirrors from HM.
Think more the mirror effect in Radiator Springs Racers, which is technically closer. When something works, must use it as. much. as. possible.

Love the first pic... one is sending a text message, the other is supervising. No wonder the refurb is behind schedule!
He's not actually texting... he's checking the mobile version of WDWMagic to see when the Test Track refurb is supposed to be completed!

Hi guys: I've been in the parks since Saturday and I'll be here until Sunday. We were in Epcot this morning pestering the line of 10 CMs since we were told of a possible soft opening this morning. They told us all of the soft openings have been canceled but obviously thats not true. I've heard elsewhere that possibly by the weekend guests should see a soft opening but I'm not so sure. The two cars that were out in front of the wall have been moved into the show room. They also told us that the wall WOULD NOT come down in the event of a soft opening. Randomly they said that if there is a soft opening they will be blasting a John Mellencamp song around the Test Track pavilion. Idk if I believe that but I'm just gullible I guess. That's all I got guys! More info would be great!!!

Just saw some reviews on twitter. I don't know these people but I think they may work as CM.

Either way it's encouraging to hear some positive reviews.

EDIT: here is a pretty insightful bunch of tweets by someone who rode the ride today. (The user seems to be answering questions when asked on twitter so if you want more go try and ask)

Note: read from the bottom up.

EDIT 2: I found another CM review...

"It’s so futuristic and the technology is cunning. The queue is absolutely phenomenal and the types of cars you can design is beyond explanation.
This is what Epcot is, the future of technology and how far we can push the limits of our knowledge and science.
I hope you can wait the expected 4 hour wait time when it opens because if not, you won’t be able to design your own car in single rider."

There are also many reports of added show scenes.... Still no info on what exactly but it is being noted as a nice change from the first version as these scenes fill previously empty space.

I thought about that after my post.. but then thought the # of people they are counting on there is pretty wild. Would standby really only be 1/3 or so of ride capacity? Scary thoughts...

Heck, it's been stated here before that CM's at the merge are told to shoot for 80% fastpass. /offtopic

Another thing to report as per CM on twitter... It is not expected that any soft opening will be open for guests until just before the December 6th opening. This is believed to be the case because WDI is still tweaking and adjusting, as well as adding some still yet to be added show elements.
