Test Track Live Chat with Imagineer

This chat felt very useless. People sent in silly questions to them. I asked them about the scoring, but it only got as far as it being sent. And the answers seem a little vague, left a whole lot in the air. It's very frustrating.

Her explanation of the ride section sounds eerily familiar...

Capability-German blocks, uproad, heat
Efficiency- replaces brakes testing
Responsiveness- Indoor handling section
Speed- outside portion

Sounds to me like they are just giving TT a tron overlay IMO

This is what she responded with to a similar question:

"We talk a lot about being in the digital space, but it's still a physical experience. We're using a lot of new technology to tell the story, but it is still a dynamic physical experience."

This is why I dont really like the Disney Parks Blog. They never give you a straight answer.

Right, that's what i was referencing. I don't even know why they bother with these things. I think they make themselves look rather silly by just pushing out "answers" that don't line up with questions.

Kind of like the technology question: "Can you tell us more about the technology used in the attraction?"
Paraphrasing: "The technology is exciting and new....."

Yep, pretty much like the last one they did. Basically just information that we already know matched up to the question that is seemed to fit the best with.

I don't know why they even waste anyone's time with these things considering they mainly answer the moderators questions and dodge most of the user the questions. Hell I would rather have the answer "we can't answer that question at this time" then getting no response at all.

We sort of got the silent treatment with our questions. I guess we'll have to wait until it opens when we get our questions answered.

I went into that chat expecting nothing, and got about what I expected. The way I am guessing at it based on the little they said, you "design" your own vehicle, which is probably kept in a screen in front of your seat. As you go through the same exact ride as before (only with a different set/script), they show you how your vehicle would perform in the tests and compare that to their standard, stock version. This is probably displayed on the screen in your seat and not shared with the world. In the post-show you could, if you want, find how your car compares against other riders that day.
Anyone else read things differently?

I don't even think it will be displayed in the car. Maybe on a screen after each "section" or just at the end of the ride.

I still don't know.

I asked if the breaks at the end of the ride would be fixed and if the audio (besides the queue track) for the old or new ride would be released, and neither showed up.

I believe the shape on the marquee is supposed to represent one of the prototype concept cars of the future, sort of "Minority Report-esque". This is the shape that most "experts" believe that cars will evolve to when we start to incorporate computer driven cars or cars that drive on predetermined grids.

I thought overall that it was very vague, but I think at the same time I have come to expect this when it comes down to an attraction that is still at least three months away from being revealed. I think they are doing it right by keeping things close to the chest, at the same time making people mad by offering the chance to ask questions and then vaguely respond to them. It makes us craving more, and to be honest, I definitely am still wanting more after this. Kind of the whole iphone approach to debuting something new.

Just canned ressponses, she can only answer the questions they allowed her to answer. The responses were only wriiten ahead of time and approved.

Now doesn't that make you more excited about Test Track now?

It's sort of like presents under the tree. Your parents wrap it in a nice wrapper and they only say what it is vaguely, wanting us to wait anxiously. When it's Christmas, we open it up and get totally psyched about it. In this case, replace the tree with a park, wrapper with a building, and the present with Test Track.
