Okay, here are some character descriptions for Forecast Follies.

Version 1 (1980s)
- Professor Sunny Showers
A brown-haired man in glasses and a lab coat, Professor Sunny Showers is the host of the attraction. He knows all there is to know about meteorology and hopes to inspire park guests to go into the field as well. Unfortunately, he didn't count on the other characters getting in the way. Voiced by Gregg Berger.
- Mr. Sun
A big, yellow, cartoony sun a la the mascot of Raisin Bran, donning a pair of sunglasses. Mr. Sun is laid-back, a bit of a wisecracker, and sort of like a surfer dude personality-wise. He sings a catchy Beach Boys-esque song, "Hotter Than Hot", about the sun. Voiced by Frank Welker.
- Rain
The physical representation of rain is a shower of raindrops with a face. Rain is melancholy, a dour type, and thinks of herself as the most important weather because so many animals and plants depend on water to survive. She sings a blues number, "Rainy Day Blues", about why it rains. Voiced by BJ Ward.
- Snow
The air chills as Snow, taking the form of an anthropomorphic snowflake, enters the theater. Snow is always in a good mood, loving to brighten the day of boys and girls everywhere by coming to town (and cancelling school in the process). She claims to be good friends with Jack Frost and Frosty the Snowman. She sings a Christmas-y jingle called "White Stuff". Voiced by Katie Leigh.
- Cloudy
Cloudy is, fittingly, a large grey cloud. He's an excitable fellow, able to shapeshift, and loves a good joke. Of the weather, he's the most humble, believing that all types of weather are of equal importance and happy to take the day off and let Mr. Sun or Rain do their thing. He sings the jazzy "Sky High". Voiced by Lennie Weinrib.
- Wind
A gust of wind signals the announcement of, obviously, Wind. Wind usually takes the form of a few curved lines (wind is usually represented by that), but can turn into a tornado if she gets angry... which she does. Often. She's pals with Rain, and sings the Latin-inspired "Blow You Away". Voiced by Susan Blu.

Version 2 (1990s)
- Carl
Your typical 1990s teenager. He wears a backwards baseball cap, rides a surfboard, and is unbelievably lazy. He's been assigned a homework assignment about meteorology, but he doesn't know anything about meteorology nor does he care anything about it. But of course, by the end he's meteorology's biggest fan. Voiced by some random teenager Disney grabbed off the street.
- Da Sun
Mr. Sun retains his sunglasses, but is otherwise reinvented into a Jamaican stereotype. He sings a reggae song, "Is It Getting Hot in Here?". Voiced by Bob Marley.
- The Rain
Rain is replaced by the Raindrops, six wisecracking droplets of water that are caricatures of, and voiced by, famous comedians: Gilbert Gottfried, Whoopi Goldberg, Dana Carvey, Tim Allen, Mike Myers, and Wanda Sykes. They don't sing a song, their segment is just the six of them bickering, giving the comedians a chance to ad-lib but still being bogged down by a painfully unfunny script.
- Snow
Snow is a male now, simply because they thought it'd be clever having Vanilla Ice do his voice (y'know, 'cause his name is Vanilla ICE). He even has Vanilla Ice's face disturbingly superimposed onto a plywood cutout of a snowflake. He sings a rap song (it's the 1990s, after all), "Below Freezing".
- Cloudy
Cloudy is now a caricature of Sinbad. That's his entire schtick, he's Sinbad but as a cloud. He can still shapeshift, but only into things that reference popular 1990s movies (for example, at one point he turns into Buzz Lightyear). He's basically a poor man's version of the Genie from Aladdin. He sings the loud and bombastic "Bein' a Cloud".
- Wind
Wind is now a tornado all the time. Every single line out of her mouth is a yell. She's voiced by Rosie O'Donnell and sings an obnoxious rock version of "Blow You Away".

I hate this because of how accurate of a change it would be ☠️☠️☠️

AKA you did a really good job 😁

Trying to finish up the original land layout so I can work on the Soarin' replacement in 04/05 and then the Rocketeer addition in the 20's (or did this end up as a replacement too for Forecast Follies and we keep the history of aviation and film as the lone holdover?) and wanting to make sure of the size thoughts you all are working with. Not going to be exact, but want to be somewhat believable.

Forecast Follies - assuming similar set up to Kitchen Cabaret. I believe the seating in there was around 220.

Sky was the Limit - Is the film for this going to be very long or would this be more of a standing theater for a shortish film that caps off the walk through?

Take Flight - .5-.7 acres?

Rocketeer - no idea here but looks like Forbidden Journey is about 1.5 acres or so so assuming similar

That seems like a good size for Take Flight :)

I think with the weather elements in the rocketeer it's entrance could take up Forecast Follies.

Sky was the Limit as the lone holdover works for me :)
Version two came out A LOT better

How long should the description for Rocketeer be?
As long as you need it to be to feel like you get your point across.

I definitely would go into detail explaining the ride system, either in the queue or preshow (if you have one) give basic information on who the Rocketeer is and the evil organization for the average park guest.

Outside that hust make sure it’s as detailed as you would want it to be 😁

@tcool123 I’m changing a bit of the styling and organization of the site, if that’s okay. I’m keeping the sub-pages for each attraction, but I’m naming them based on the attraction, not the year. Just so it’s a bit easier to navigate at a glance.

I'm not sure how crazy I am how this is coming out, but don't want to spend an inordinate amount of time stressing on it. I'd put a key on there too before finishing:
1. Take Flight
2. Walt's Plane
3. Tastemosphere
4. Gift Shop
5. Forecast Follies
6. Corporate entrance to elevator

Not labeled is first floor restrooms and then some of that open space would be taken up by stairs with Aviators Club and Sky was the Limit being on the 2nd floor over Gift Shop/Tastemosphere and part of Forecast Follies

Would do an updated map for 04' as Soarin basically takes over Take Flight with the theaters going straight out from there and then '21 Map Rocketeer takes over Forecast Follies, pavilion is extended back to the road and then down the road butting up against the Soarin structures

Take Flight

Climb aboard the wondrous Boeing Flying Machines and take flight into a worldwide adventure encountering enchanting vistas, exhilarating thrills and an eclectic groups of cultures that make for an exotic getaway in the skies! Take Flight acts as a spiritual successor to If You Had Wings at Magic Kingdom which closed in 1981 to be replaced by an attraction based on the in development Tron.

Queue

Guests approach Take Flight within the World Above pavilion while taking note of the attraction's marquee. Jutting out of the wall of the queue is a plane turbine equipped with a slowly spinning propeller. On one blade the word Take is present and on the other if Flight announcing the presence of the ride to all. Wings attached below the turbine contain a sign that displays the current wait time for the attraction.

Upon passing under the marquee guests are led through a series of switchbacks in a well lit queue area. The walls have slight cloud designs with quotes about flying from various aerospace engineers, pilots, and even the CEO of Boeing. The queue mirrors the queue for Living with the Land in that it remains rather plain but able to hold a large amount of people that continuously flow into the ride vehicles.

Ride System

Vehicle.png

This is an aerial dark ride taking a page from Peter Pan's Flight while expanding the ride vehicles to allow for more capacity in a vehicle. There are rows with each row being able to fit a party of four. Each row will have two lap bars for two people in a row. The ride vehicle is designed after early flying machines, and even includes a propeller in the front of the vehicles that spins throughout the ride. The dark ride will be able to reach max speeds of 5 mph, but it will feel like a lot more thanks to wind machines causing guests to feel like they're going faster.

Ride Experience

"Hey there all you flying aces it's your resident chief pilot here! Now when you board your Boeing Flying Machines make sure to keep your hands, arms, feet and legs inside the vehicle at all times! Hold onto any loose cargo, and if you have any bags you can place them underneath your seats! Stay safe when you take flight!"

As guests reach the loading area they are guided into what row they are to be seated in by a cast member dressed in a flight attendants outfit. Once all guests are seated the lap bars go down to secure guests, and the flying machines begin to move out of the station. The cast members check to make sure the lap bars are secure before the flying machine takes flight to the world above. When the guests are all secured the cast members wish all guests a safe flight!

Scene 1: Lift Off

giphy.gif

As the flying machine departs from load it turns into a rather dark room illuminated very slightly be runway lights in the ground. The walls of the room are painted to depicts a dark night at an airfield. The sound of radio static as an old elderly posh voice comes over the speakers.

"Hello? This is tower to Boeing, you're clear for takeoff! Now go and take flight!"

The vehicle quickly turns and begins to ascend as wind machines blow wind towards guests creating the sensation of going faster than guests are actually travelling at. A plywood cutout of an airport tower comes into view, and it seems like the flying machine is about to crash into the tower.

"Tower to Boeing. Go up, up I say! You're going to crash!"

The flying machine goes up a little bit more as the top of the tower folds down allowing the machine to safely go over it while giving riders the sensation of a near crash experience. An orchestral rendition of the attraction's main theme begins to play with a loud crescendo transitioning into a lighter rendition as guests fly over a miniature model of Walt Disney World at night.

"Tower to Boeing. You've taken flight! Now go and journey to new places!"

With those final words guests are off on their flight around the world to countless destinations that were tourism hotspots in the 1970's and 80's.

Scene 2: India

Pink-city.jpg

As the flying machine enters India the theme for Take Flight is played on the sitar adding to the ambience of the India scene. The scene begins as guests fly over Jaipur, the pink city. Jaipur has received that nickname due to the pink coloration that many of its buildings and palaces have. This correlation continues in miniature as guests can marvel in the technicolor wonder of the cities' architecture. The flying machine makes a turn as guests accidentally fly through one of the arches found at Red Fort. The flying machine turns around allowing guests to take in the beauty of Red Fort, and marvel at the speed of air travel from Jaipur to Delhi. The flying machine approaches Red Fort once more flying through one of its gazebos on its turrets into the next scene.

Scene 3: Australia

700-00452602en_Masterfile.jpg

As the flying machine enters Australia the theme for Take Flight is played on the digeridoo adding to the ambience of the Australian scene. The scene begins as guests fly over the Outback. Observant guests will notice in the beauty of the desert are various animals that are made small to match the fact guests are flying over them. Guests will be able to make out kangaroos, emus, dingoes, and more! Suddenly Ayers Rock comes into view as the flying machine gently descends to get guests closer to this amazing wonder of nature. Guests are kept above the rockiness of Ayers Rock as it seamlessly transitions into the next scene.

Scene 4: Peru

6016.jpg

The mountain range turns green with foliage as guests have been flown into the Andes found within the country of Peruvian. As the flying machine enters Peru the theme for Take Flight is played on an antara flauta adding to the ambience of the Peru scene. Guests get an up-close look at Machu Picchu, the lost city. Machu Picchu has earned that name given how it was lost to the world for hundreds of years until it was only 72 years ago in 1911! The flying machine exits the mountain chain and fly over Nazca where the famous Nazca Lines dwell. Various figures are drawn onto the ground below, but one of them seems to be alive as it moves and twitches like an animal! This is achieved by the use of a projector. The fields become rockier and mountainous transforming into the next the next scene of the ride.

Scene 5: Greece

greece-attica-athens-acropolis-listed-as-world-heritage-by-unesco-2.jpg

As the flying machine enters Greece the theme for Take Flight is played on the bouzouki adding to the ambience of the Greek scene. The flying machine dodges the ruin cliffs of the Acropolis at Athens. The flying machine turns allowing for guests to take in the Acropolis including the famous Parthenon. Now flying over the Acropolis guests can see many a detailed ruin, and notice plenty of tiny details before departing Greece into the final scene.

Scene 6: Take Flight

magnificentearlyflyingmachines_4455.jpg

The final scene is full of clouds and various wondrous fantastical flying machines with people manning them or being flown by them. They are waving towards the guests while singing the theme song for Take Flight to all passersby. As the flying machine begins to exit the final scene a familiar voice is heard once more.

"Tower to Boeing! You've seen so many places, but have yet to see them all! Take flight onto new journeys worldwide on a Boeing!"

The flying machine soon lands back into the loading area as the theme for Take Flight plays in the background for all guests exiting on their journey.

Feel free you're the project manager you have final say :)

Hear me out Gilbert Gottfried's face superimposed on a rain drop :D
It would be a great photoshop to accompany @Brer Panther 's idea ;)

One thing we never got to was if Soarin was getting that third theater on opening day or later on like it did in real life?

Other than that the map looks great I really appreciate all the detail as I'm sure it's no easy task to do! If you have time could you map out the second floor? Just if you have the time though, wouldn't want to overwork you or anything 😅

And on the overworking part would you want me to take on the quick service to alleviate your plate a bit?

How about either Lee Thompson Young (The Famous Jett Jackson) or Shia LeBeouf (Even Stevens)? Both would have had either series airing or in production when the revamp would open in 2000, and it would be very Eisner era to bring in some Disney Channel star at the time to voice the character.

Hmmm... maybe we just include it on opening day to simplify things?
I would agree and since we have Boeing money would be feasible to have the third theater.

I added this to the site if anybody thinks I should change something thought feel free to tell me :)

Also I'll write up like a walkthrough of the pavilion on opening day for the Opening Day page.

Do we want any special opening day celebrations?

Ooooh good idea. Whatever we do, maybe special guests and representatives from Boeing could attend?
I think the easiest thing we could do is a Boeing air show with planes flying in over the World Above Pavilion and performing over World Showcase Lagoon?

The flyover is definitely possible as this happens regularly with the Blue Angels, and an air show would be right up to Boeing's calling.

We could invite media to film similar to what Disney has done in the past acting as free publicity for both Epcot and Boeing.
