My Top 3:

  1. Gravity - A Mission: SPACE-esque survival simulator could be cool for this
  2. The Martian - Space is always fun (apparent by my two votes so far)
  3. The Artist - I haven't seen this movie since it came out so I will need to rewatch it again but based off of y'all's discussions I think it could be fun!

I think Jokers is asleep atm, so for the time being maybe we could decide on our roles? I have another interesting presentation concept that I think would work really well for all the front-running options. That said, I did take presentation last time, so if anyone else wants it feel free.

I think we can do that tonight to be honest... I think some of the roles could be movie-dependent, and we have a full week to work on this project, so we’re not really rushing. That being said, if everybody’s fine with you doing presentation, that’s good with me, I just want to wait until Jokers is available so that we can all decide on that stuff together

Sounds great! I’m excited to work on this! So Outbound already said he wanted to do the presentation, and some other things I can think of off the bat include: queue, exterior, ride scenes, ride vehicles, technology/effects, concept art, and I was thinking it’d be cool to do some sort of artsy thing at the end instead of the standard gift shop. That’s plenty of stuff, and I’m sure we’re missing some, so let us know what you are wanting to do. I think ride scenes may be enough for one person without anything extra though I could be wrong, and I’m not sure if Outbound wants anything extra on top of presentation. I think it makes sense for everyone to put in their top choice and we’ll go through whatever’s left. I’m really interested in doing ride scenes, but I’d definitely defer if someone more passionate about it wanted to do it (I know Jokers is the movie guy and he could probably kill it if he wanted to haha). Just throw your hat into the ring haha!

I can work on Ride Vehicles & Technology since they would go hand-in-hand. Will have to wait a bit to see whoever does the ride scenes for a ride vehicle that makes sense but I think this will be a lot of fun to work on!

I can take the ride through (or work with Goofy on them, I’m just now realizing that he offered to work on them haha,) but we should really make sure that we’re all on the same page with concept before we start writing. Like Outbound said, we have a lot of time to really fine tune this project. Even if we tried doing something slightly different and got our portions in a few days early so we could finalize everything together, anything helps to make this the best it could be.

Yeah I agree... I'm going to try and watch the movie later tonight and get some of my thoughts on it organized and posted

I was going to mention that!

Anyway, my initial thought for the queue is that I might design it around some of the office space of Kinograph Studios. It seems like a solid way to quickly peg the Hollywood setting from the film, and use signage and writing to help set up the world. For instance, posters for some George Valentin's movies, and an extras casting call sign-in sheet with Peppy Miller's name written on it.

I like this idea. My idea was for a video, to best replicate the lack of sound and color. It would be easiest to create the video after all the writeups have come in, so I can base it within the prose (both will be used in the final project).
