I'm finally going to sleep, but I'll be sure to check in first thing in the morning to see how everything's going! @DashHaber , been a while since we've heard from you! Any last minute touches you'd like to work on adding? Looking forward to seeing everything come together, but really fantastic jobs done by everyone!

The google slides have been updated with everything so far.

I like how we're all acting as if this is business as usual and its totally not the middle of the night that we all just happened to be awake for. Jokers is the only one with a viable excuse

I wish I could blame my messed up sleep schedule on Jokers but staying up this late has been the norm since my 6 month long “Spring Break” started 🤣

Yeah I would definitely combine the videos. We're treading the same ground in a lot of places, but the music in mine definitely differs in a few of the scenes. Really fantastic work. I'll have mine up soon.

Oh no, it's the Robin Hood coaster all over again!

It's done! The video is quite a bit longer than Outbound's, but I needed the length to make a few of the transitions work properly.

A few of the transitions are a bit rough, and I oddly couldn't find voice audio that would actually work for scene 7. Intro music is meant to be load music, outro music is unload.

EDIT: Oof, just listened to this with headphones and the cuts are super audible. Just don't listen to it with headphones and it'll sound fine :P

This was amazing!!! I love the music choices and the way it fit really well with the scenes! I'm really excited to see the combination of the two videos because they both have some incredible elements to them! Thankfully Outbound had some cool visual stuff for scene 7 so that's covered. And the cuts were fine for me without headphones haha!

Side note, I really love the way our scene 7 is like a memory of what went wrong for George as a sort of build-up to the "BANG"... seeing everything come together, I think this is one of the highlights of the season, almost undoubtedly!

Ride vehicles/ system:

The ride vehicles are designed as cliche 1920 cars.

In order to raise capacity, the cars have 3 rows of 4 seats. In each set of cars, 3 cars are “linked” together in a traditional busbar ride system.

Or is it?

Guests will believe that the ride system is a traditional busbar attraction as they can see the busbar implemented in the ground. Realistically, however, the ride system is trackless (but won’t be revealed until later in the attraction). To make sure the trackless ride vehicles work properly, the busbar is pulled under the track just before the ride vehicles hit it and is raised again just after the ride vehicle passes it so that guests only ever see it on the busbar.

How is this pulled off? The video below explains in better detail how the effect would work.
(The grey box is the trackless track, the green line is the busbar track, and the pink box is the ride vehicle).

Love this! The explanation on how the busbar is going to work... definitely makes a lot more sense seeing it visually! The vehicle also makes a ton of sense and I think it'll be really cool to have this as the ride vehicle. Are the vehicles supposed to be black and white?

Ohhhh I like black and white. I wonder if I can make them use projection mapping/ screens so that they become colourful when we hit the finale scene. Let me check logistics of that and get back to you!!

That’s an awesome idea! Hopefully you can find something on it to make it realistic haha!

Project’s due in just a few hours... how’s everyone doing? I’m going to be gone from around 7-8:30 eastern, but I’ll be able to post the project in the hub thread after that depending on if it’s all done already or not

Colour changing cars:

When the guests load into the car, the cars are black, grey, and white. They continue like this until the finale scene.

The trick behind this is that it is actually Thermochromic paint (heat-sensitive paint). This top layer appears to be a boring monochrome but when hot water is sprayed on it in the dark of setting up the finale, the heat of the water is enough to bring out the hidden colour underneath the initial paint but it cools off enough that it is back to black and white by the time the cars get back to the loading platform.
