Capcom has made games for Nintendo consoles before, but they're mostly unassociated with each other beyond the occasional exclusivity deal. The IPs that we've discussed so far (Street Fighter, Final Fight and Strider) are all targeted at a teen and young adult audience instead of Mario and DK's more family friendly image. If we did Capcom, it'd probably replace Bond in our plans.

Also USJ has already done collaborations with Capcom in the past (such as Biohazard The Real and Monster Hunter the Real), so it doesn't seem too far off for them to collaborate for the US Parks.
Yeah, Nintendo and Capcom are generally more their own things. If we did a video game-related island, I'd say it would probably be one or the other.

Alright, so I have something to admit. I ABHOR Seuss Landing. I hate everything Dr. Seuss, be it the books, the movies, the characters, the colors. The closest thing to enjoyment of Dr. Seuss is the ironic enjoyment of the Illumination Lorax movie and the Grinch is fine at Christmastime, but other than that, I’ve gotta just say 🤮🤮.

So, for obvious reasons, my vote is destroy Seuss Landing down to its last atom and bring it back as something significantly better worthy of a theme park land and not a total disgrace to humanity for being inflicted on our eyes.

God I hate Dr. Seuss
Did I just read an unreleased opinion piece by Tucker Carlson?

Safe bet you'd not be stepping foot in this water park from Season 15? ;)

Since I haven't seen many mentions or much brainstorming for Bond, I'll just pitch the Capcom island idea as an alternative:
It’s another world spanning Street Fighter tournament, contestants come from all over the world and even from different time periods! Szuku Castle holds Super Street Fighter Turbo: World Cruise, a boat ride that takes you all over the world Small World style but thanks to M. Bison chaos arises. Visit Metro City and help Haggar, Cody, and Guy on their quest to abolish the Mad Gear gang in a new dark ride that takes you undercover throughout the gang’s many hideouts.

After visiting Captain Commando, go on a quest to defeat the GrandMaster with Strider Hryu that will take you on a roller coaster ride through Serbia, the Battleship Balrog, and his base on the moon.

There was a James Bond pitch for the land (I don’t blame you for missing it it’s way back there in pages. Lots of brainstorming has happened since)

Welcome to Monte Carlo, a citystate of high risks and high rewards. MI6 has been called in to investigate the gatherings of numerous top profile crime lords. Rumor has it they are working together to secure control over the World Security Council... unfortunately for them, 007 happens to be in town...

We also need to establish a PM (unless we want it to be randomized).

Based on Outbound’s idea (which I think works well with 10 people), the PM works mainly with the leader of each land and the presentation. So if there’s a specific land someone wants to work on, they shouldn’t be the PM (for example it doesn’t make sense for @JokersWild to be PM because we know how passionate they are for DC).

Does anyone want to be PM?

I think there'd need to be one giant e-ticket, a stunt show, and that's all about directly Bond. The rest is themed to whatever location in the world we decide to base on (I suggested Monte Carlo earlier) with a lot of smaller elements to contribute to the worldbuilding. For instance, maybe the premiere restaurant in the area is secretly the front of the bad guy we go up against in the ride. It would be those smaller details that build up the land.

Can make up a universal version of the play app. Guests can “register” to be part of MI6 and watch out while they’re in the land for any suspicious soy activity. Loud bang in the kitchen while you’re at dinner? Make sure to report it on your phone

Nice. Those are some cool ideas there. Definitely down for a Final Fight dark ride, maybe one that feels a bit madcap and hectic, to sell the feel of getting caught up in a beat-'em-up adventure. A roller coaster would also a good choice for Strider. Either a roller coaster or simulator.

That boat ride also sounds like a fun idea for Street Fighter. Still one thought I had was perhaps a 3D show or maybe a motion ride with 3D elements. I was thinking of something that perhaps has guests as visitors of the World Warrior tournament, initially just as spectators but we get pulled into the action.

Just to let everyone know, I have no idea what games Capcom makes (having looked it through, can confirm I've heard of a few but never played/watched gameplay of any). Now, this usually isn't an issue but I think if you compare Capcom to Nintendo, almost everyone has heard of Mario and a lot have heard of Kirby and Zelda. It's fitting of a theme park. But will a Street Fighter land appeal to general audiences?

I don't want to mess with anyone's thunder, and I'd be more than happy to let everyone who knows the IP go at it, but I also don't want it to cost us realism points.

I was thinking the same thing.

I like the idea of Capcom but at the same time, Universal also owns the rights to Nintendo so it’s much more realistic to do Zelda or Kirby compared to something Capcom.

(This could also be personal bias as I know very little Capcom offhand)

Agreed. My initial thought is @Outbound especially since he's been organizing everyone already.

In terms of video games, I think that it would be more realistic for us to stick with Nintendo as well since they already have the license.

So, just so we're on the same page, DC and Board Games are locked? If we do Bond that might work to let us have one land that is a bit smaller, though I'd still love to see a video game.

Valid point. Honestly, I'd just be down for some sort of video game-inspired island. Capcom was an idea I had because, at least for me, I feel like they have one of the more recognizable sets of characters outside of Nintendo.

To be fair, the other team is going with Dragon's Lair which I wouldn't consider exactly mainstream either (Last new one was made about 28 years ago?). At least with Street Fighter, I'm certain that SF will continue to be a cashcow (and the next entry will be console exclusive to PS LOL).

But if someone comes up with something excellent with Bond, any of Nintendo's excellent IPs or anything else, I'm open.

But like we were talking about last night, there are quite a few oddball Nintendo IPs that we could use (Mother, Pikmin, Metroid, etc.). I just think that sticking with Nintendo would help with realism.
