I’m all in for those three but we shouldn’t jump off the deep end yet and go right into those lands. We haven’t heard from everyone yet and there could be other ideas/ concerns we are missing at this point. Luckily this project is longer so we have more time to brainstorm if we need it

That’s true! I find it funny we’re bypassing the page count of last week and the first day hasn’t even properly started.

Yeah I’m headed to sleep too. Bye everyone!

Don’t think you’re missing anything... at least not that I can remember. I think if anything, the Green Lantern attraction is the first thing that makes sense to go in my opinion... in addition to one of the flat rides probably

I like these ideas as the three lands and I’d like to work on the board games for sure!
And now I’m actually going to sleep lol
Oh...I really like the Green Lantern attraction :p

I'm heading to bed, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going to set up the DC PM in the morning. Just tag me in a post if you'd like to be added to it, and I'll make sure to do so.

We're off to a really solid start. I'm very excited to see the end result.

Have we decided on what’s replacing Toon Lagoon for sure?

No, but a lot of us are invested in the concept. If you have any other ideas though please share, we may like it more!

Also throwing out that you guys still need to decide on a project leader. I'm giving you until tomorrow before I pull out the dreaded Random.org.

Also as a recap to the morning people, we are going to organize as follows:
  • 1 Project Manager who oversees everything and (probably) does the presentation
  • 3 on Land One (in all likelihood DC) with one of the three a land leader reporting back to the project manager
  • 3 on Land Two (leaning Bond, may change) with one of the three a land leader reporting back to the project manager
  • 3 on Land Three (leaning board games, may change) with one reporting back to the project manager
  • The goal of this concept is for everyone to be structured with equal resources pooled into each land, and an easy way for the project manager to oversee everything.

Here’s my pitch for Bikini Bottom
Attractions:

Spongebob E-ticket Dark Ride about his Best Day Ever!
Guests get a chance to eat at the Krusty Krab and eat a Krabby Patty!
Inside Sandy’s tree dome, you can engage in a fun flat ride similar to Alien Swirling Saucers. Your ride vehicle (a Texas wagon) is pulled by a Seahorse.

There’s also a boating school attraction where kids can drive across Bikini Bottom and get their boating license!

There’s a walkthrough of Spongebob’s house as well as Squidwards. Guests can eat at the Chum Bucket. The Salty Spitoon acts as the “Oga’s Cantina” type place where legal adults can get alcoholic drinks. Weenie Hut Jr. is a store that sells spongebob themed candy.

So, reading over some of the ideas mentioned:

  • While DC Comics may pretty much just be used by Six Flags, they really would benefit from the resources that Universal could provide. So, I'd be all up for that as one of the replacement islands.
  • I'm also all for a video game-inspired idea. For instance, Nintendo really does have so many properties to pull from. While there are Super Nintendo World sections turning up at other Universal parks and Epic Universe, those really look like they're focusing on Mario basically. We could easily pull from other franchises to focus on, with my top choices there probably being The Legend of Zelda or Animal Crossing. With Zelda, we could design it as a general Hyrule that showcases influences from throughout the series. As for Animal Crossing, I definitely would picture that as the kid-friendly area of the park. While the idea of rides would seem a little tough to imagine for such a low-key game, I'd see it as more of a rest area. For example, perhaps a boat ride that takes you through a riverside village. Plus, the New Horizons game actually features a spinning tea-cups ride.
  • Of course, if we wanted to do a video game-related island that's not Nintendo-related, I would mention Capcom. I noticed the Street Fighter mention, and it occurred to me we could design a Capcom island with Street Fighter as something of a "theme anchor", thanks to two other Capcom games that are confirmed to share the same universe as Street Fighter: Final Fight and Strider.

I suggested earlier Crash and Spyro (maybe both in one area since they've crossed over a few times?).

Also, I know Hasbro has been mentioned before with its board games, but frankly they also own so many classic toy franchises as well. Transformers, G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, just to name a few.

Heck, they've even acquired Power Rangers now.
