So a little more detail on my project idea: There would be characters that relate to each season, either elves or fairies, with the story of these fantasy characters being the one who changes the seasons. I feel like this bar is a loose enough theme to be put kind of anywhere which is why I didn't bother putting a location in my first write up. However I feel like Animal Kingdom could be a great fit for it with it's ties to nature.

The basic premise would be an enclosed "forest" split into 4 rooms with each holding a different season frozen in time. Guests can visit all of the seasons and try specialty drinks and snacks while enjoying the atmosphere of the season thanks to ambient background sounds, different scents, and interesting characters who will tell folk tales about the seasons. On weekends the four seasons will combine together for a stage performance about the changing of the seasons.

I like the concept! I personally think it would fit much better as an expansion to The Land Pavilion but if that is the bar we go with, we can decide location as a team.

For the people that are around today, I think we should all submit our top 3 bar choices so that when we have full activity from the team tomorrow, we have the theme down and can move into the next steps!

Things that were liked about our last presentation: It was a video

Things that were not liked about our presentation: Still text-heavy

While it would be tricky since the focus is on the back story and the environment more than the actual bar, what if we go heavy visuals for this one?

This is a quick example I put together of the New York Gangster idea I mentioned (it was the first that came to mind):

With things like ambient music and even bar crowd sounds, we can make it feel as if they judges were actually in the bar, looking at various important sights within there knocking out the sight and sound senses to be fully immersed

I love that! Though I agree with Pix that a video twice in a row get us marked down. But music should be very important. and I like the idea of doing the project in first person perspective. Put the reader in the perspective of someone visiting the bar.

@Pi on my Cake what if instead of a new entertainment centre thing we could demo Rainforest Cafe to do the Mythical thing there. Gives us lots of space and not a *ton* of work. Allows it to be both in and out of the park as well

Getting rid of Rainforest would be a great idea for an easy location for something near DAK! There's another location in Springs and the entire chain has been talking of closing for years.

  1. Fountain of Youth (Could be put in the DAK location instead of Springs, focus on the Fountain as the beauty of Nature and the immortal people living in harmony with the land. I was picturing it as very natural/over-grown in its environment anyway.)
  2. Paleontologist Hangout
  3. New York Gangster Bar
Sorry again for not being here much. I should be on a lot more starting tomorrow

Was the Adventurers' Club open for the young ones below 21, or is it exclusive to adults only (because you know, drinking)? In any case:
  1. Fountain of Youth (Disney Springs/Disney's Animal Kingdom)
  2. Four Seasons Fantasy (The Land Pavilion, EPCOT)
  3. Baltimore Gun Club (Discoveryland, Disneyland Paris)

I thought I had posted this but apparently i typed but but never hit post. I would say tie between 4 seasons and paleontology hangout with third as fountain of youth

That makes the rankings:

Four Season: 8 points
Paleontologist Hangout: 8 points
Fountain of Youth: 7 points

That leaves us between the Four Seasons and Paleontologist Hangout. I am good with either but we should come up with a definitive theme in the morning!

@AceAstro, can you give us more details about the Paleontologists' Hangout for DAK (about the same amount as what Pix gave earlier)? I admit I'm a bit lost when trying to imagine it and trying to compare it to the Adventurers' Club experience.
Sure! I didn't have a ton thought out compared to Pix but I will write it up more.

I pictured it could be tied into the current backstory of Dinoland USA. "DinoLand, U.S.A. started in 1947 with the discovery of some dinosaur bones by an amateur fossil-hunter in a small highway town. The fossil hunter and some of his scientist friends pooled their money and purchased the site."

We give that amateur fossil-hunter (and the rest of the team) a name a expand that story on who he was and how he founded that site. More scientists started coming (you can see evidence around) but they are college students, so they need a place to party!

This place could be a place for all the college paleontologists who have been digging all day a place to unwind and have a break after a long day in the sun.

There could be a fossil room where the table or shelves and everything are built out of various fossil designs. Another room can involve some sort of Dino re-creation show (to fit in the puppets need). A room to playfully "dress up" as paleontologists? A dig site?

I hadn't fully dug into rooms I had just thought of it as a good fit for the land/ need for the park.
