Europe had a horrible spring last year that felt more like an extended winter. It was nearly June when I went and it was still cold...and wet. Not surprised DLP suffered an attendence drop.

Keep in mind that 1000 AP holders could gate click 100 times in a year then walk out. That would be 100k additional shown which are ultimately nothing. Guest spending is where it's at. Attendance is just kinda meh. In wdw's case hotel occupancy, as well is the true gauges.

Spot on!

In regards to DHS vs. DAK - it's all based on where you click first. So - people often start their day at DAK and then hop somewhere else that has a nighttime show. DHS might be last of the four parks, but probably has a higher overall attendance.

Blackfish was shown at Sundance in January of 2013 and had wider release in the summer of 2013, so that would have impacted these numbers.
Yes - but the REAL backlash where people started to hate because it was cool wasn't until the end of the year.

I'm interested to see what Diagon Alley does for IOA in 2014's numbers. I'm actually hoping that it cracks the top ten. Maybe that will light a fire under TDO's behinds.

I bet that is it! All those AP holders just trying to screw with attendance numbers!

I have been to the parks throughout the year and my experience is inline with an increase in attendance. I did not notice increase crowds solely at the turnstiles.

Keep in mind these are unofficial numbers, as Disney (and most of the competitors, I assume) don't release the actual figures.

With that in mind, I was expecting more of an increase for both California Adventure and Islands of Adventure. The Magic Kingdom saw a good increase, but then it was the only WDW park with anything new recently.
