I completely agree about Hunchback! I absolutely loved that show and had to sit as close as I could to the stage or platform every time! lol Musically it was phenomenal and the staging was so unique! :) I miss this show a great deal! :(

I personally have never liked the BATB show, even though BATB is my favorite Disney movie of that period. It definitely has always bothered me that many performers do not sing live.

I think a Tangled show would be wonderful! When I think about the effects they could use with the lanterns and the comedy of Rapunzel hitting Flynn with a skillet..it would be great! I for one have my fingers crossed! lol :)

I agree with this completely. The show may have been impressive once, but I think that the 17-year-running Broadway musical has made the DHS show all but obsolete. Plus, I was pretty young when I saw the show the first couple of times, but I seem to remember there being a lot more to it - I think each show ended with a release of live doves, and didn't the men in the mob carry real flaming torches? I seem to remember the show being longer too. Every time I watch it now it just seems so cut down and unimpressive.

There are many, many comments on here about how unrepeatable the shows at DHS are - why not change some of them up a bit?

Agreed with this - I think the Princess and the Frog is much more stageworthy than Beauty and the Beast, and the music is considerably catchier and more appealing. They could even give it a "showboat" show style, like the old Showboat Jubilee at the Magic Kingdom. :)

How do children handle an entire musical based around Finding Nemo which had no songs at all? They find a way.

Additional songs wouldn't be an issue, it's common place in Broadway adaptions of musical films. For example Mary Poppins has songs that don't appear in the movie. And yes, I know broadway is not wdw.

My honest opinion is that I would love for a Tangled show but not replacing anything, more of a new show. As many have said more entertainment in DHS is always needed.

What I would love though is if BATB went down for a bit and the show was developed a bit more, like the musical version. I wish they would like make it a mini Broadway version of it. Add a few songs from the musical make the beast sing and the cast sing too and no lip syncing. I would personally love it even more than I do. I think by doing this and updating the show a bit then it would last even longer.

Personal Opinion I guess. :xmas::xmas:

BATB on Broadway was meant to be brilliant and a version of that would be great!!!

I would love for a Tangled show to come but there's no reason why it couldn't go in the already enclosed Premiere Theatre over in Streets of America. Like everyone else has said DHS should only be adding shows and entertainment in addition to what they have.

Tangled is a great movie...but not because of the songs. That part would just not translate very well to a musical stage show in my opinion, especially if we are talking about replacing Beauty and the Beast (probably the best song list out of any Disney animated feature).

Disney would need to write up like another half dozen songs if they have a tangled show. There were some good songs, but they need more for a boradwayish show.

That thought made me shudder a bit. I've seen firsthand that Disney's more than willing to stage musicals from songless movies, just because they did well at the box office. This is a show from Disney Cruise Line, and, well, let's just say it's divisive:

People here raise a good point, though... quality of music should be the #1 factor when deciding a musical, not the popularity of the original movie.

Agree. I wasnt advocating, just pointing out the obvious. It made boatloads of cash and they likely want to capitalize on that success.
