Tangled Area Opening Date

This could possibly be finished by Dec 6th if they pushed it. I know that's not their style to rush anything, but there are no complicated mechanical ride elements to deal with and really only basic electric and plumbing all of which is probably in already. The rock work for BOG and LM came together pretty quickly.

I can't believe some people are questioning Disney for spending money to theme the bathrooms. If they built plain generic bathrooms in a rectangle building with no theme we would kill them for being cheap and building something that looked out of place. Many on here (me included at times) are critical of TDO or whoever you believe is calling the shots for loosing focus on the attention to detail that made WDW famous in favor of cutting costs. They go out and add a level of detail that goes well beyond the bare minimum (working toilets) and we question them for spending the money. I guess they can't win.

My 2 cents on the discussion about WDI calling the shots: if that was true the company would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. With any business that involves artists and creative people the biggest challenge for executives is harnessing the talent of the artists and keeping them happy while at the same time keeping an eye on the budget. When the money guys are in charge of creative decisions that usually fails and the same can be said for when the creative people are put in charge of budgets.

When the train station and restrooms opened up in Storybook Circus (did I get that name right?), everybody loved the look. The old-fashioned station look, the fake rails for Casey Jr., and really restrooms make up the main building. So, why would they be surprised at the Tangled Restrooms? I prefer that to the restrooms by the eatery in Frontiersland that you can barely find or the restrooms close to Tomorrowland that look like something from a state park. Granted, they have a purpose that they meet acceptably (TP? Check. Clean? Check. Flushing? Check.). Still, as was mentioned elsewhere, in a heavily travelled area of the park, make it nice. Make it somewhere that keeps the fantasy going (uh, that could have been stated better). Keep the dream alive? No, that's just as bad. Anyway, to get back on track, I am looking forward to the improved traffic flow through that area, the beauty of the landscaping and theming, and the ease to finding the required stopping point.

I am not an apologist. I am telling you the truth. And people like you clearly cannot handle the truth!

And just because someone states true facts and doesn't give a negative opinion on something or doesn't agree with you automatically makes those kinds of people apologists?! WRONG!!! It does not! Knock off the bullying and quit being jerks, people!

None of what you say are facts. They are all opinions. Every single one. You repeatedly try to justify the actions of Disney management even when they make horrible decisions that virtually everyone agrees upon are horrible. That's what makes people say you are an apologist. I have no problems with opinions different from mine. However, you insist yours are the only one that is correct. Plus the fact that you constantly insult anyone who disagrees with you also doesn't help. "It's a sin and wrong" A sin?? Really?? And you wonder why it's hard for people to take your opinions seriously.

You have obviously not heard of the 11th commandment, "Thou shalt not criticize Disney upper management." ;)

I don't think this will open anytime soon... but I don't know a thing about construction (except I built a house and it took way too long and took years off my life).
I'm thinking about how long things took when FL was at this stage. I know there are no attractions and such but there's a lot of detail yet.

I saw pics today where one of the buildings has receieved a grass roog, so hopefully this means it's close to being finished. Has Disney even made mention of this area in any way?

I think this is going to be beautiful.

I am just stumped as to what the weirdly shaped building is in front. I can see the village-type houses that are getting the grass thatched roofs. They look like Sleeping Beauty's cottage in the woods. But what is that weird cone shaped thing in front? It's not going to be Rapunzel's tower because my son said that the tower is going BEHIND the restrooms on a hill and will be built in forced perspective (my son told me that's what makes it look far away, by the rocks).

So does anyone know what the weird cone of steel will be turned into?

It was mentioned in the recent chat with Chris Beatty...

Jenn Fickley-Baker:
We've also received several questions about construction going on elsewhere in Fantasyland, in the area where the old Skyway attraction was. What can you tell us about this area?

Chris Beatty:
Not only have we looked at adding new guests experiences to the New Fantasyland, but we looked at opportunities to enhance guest comfort. Many of you are curious to know will there be a character meet-and-greet in this area, but at this moment there are no plans.

The strange curved roof appears to match that of the Snuggly Duckling tavern in the movie. I think they may theme the woman's room to be the tavern.

I don't know what the cone thing is. I was commenting on the curved roof to the right of the "Cone"

Based on the picture you linked to, it sure looks like the theming could match the tavern. I am speculating on the cone. I have not seen the movie....just throwing out a guess.

I don't know what the cone is either. I have scene the movie a million times (two small kids) and I can't figure it out.
