Why do we have to do that though?

If 3 people sit out to run the comp, how do you know for sure who is the best? It's just about fun. And maybe you could just have an award for best imagineer instead of a comp to decide it.
It was a separate award, not a comp.

Elite Eight decided nothing.

Red won Elite Eight, I won "best imagineer" as a matter of public vote, for example.

We do have an award...I think englanddg won it.

But if we don't have a comp to decide the 'best imagineer' then why even have a final competition?

I meant, it makes no sense to have a team win if the whole point is to find the best single Imagineer. Whether the year ends in June or December doesn't matter to me at least.
Oh... yeah. I agree with that, it should be individual.

Maybe we should move it to March, just for the March Madness name? ;)

I agree. That's why I mentioned the league idea last night privately. It would be a logistical nightmare, but it would allow more people to play at a time, and it would be more fun for everyone.

I would say that we could do awards in December. That can be about the whole year, not just the competitive year.
I disagree, only for build up purposes. It's the last huzzah comp before the year "resets" ending with Awards. It worked well last year, and I don't see why it wouldn't work well moving forward.

The ONE issue is that summer is the time when long comps work best for the most people. Obviously not people like me (who works 60 some odd hours a week), but students, for example, it's an ideal time.

So, it's a contested timeframe. Ideally, SA, SYWTBAI all that will also want this timeframe. To toss in year end stuff just seems like over saturation, even though it's more convenient for many.

That is very true. We do have to consider the actual comps.

Okay I think I'm going to agree with you hear.

We didn't have any problems last year with how it was. I think this was in part because the people that make the cut are dedicated to the contests...they are not new people that come in the summer and never come back. And if they have to drop...then they drop.

I vote for December but have it be quick.

If it doesn't determine anything, then we don't need many challenges. Just a few fun ones to round out the year. There doesn't need to be eliminations. Just a winner at the end then before Christmas and then the awards.

Then reset for next calendar year.

Eliminations do not take much time. Elite Eight is base on judges critiques...no boardroom or the contest stalling for a day to decide who goes.
