SURVIVOR - Redemption Island

They've been real cagey about when a contestant from Redemption Island will return to the game. Make no mistake, the next challenge will be in Russell's wheelhouse, and he'll be back in the game. The criteria as to when a challenge winner returns is, I suspect, completely based on who makes good TV.

Well, that sucked. I did love how Russell went out though. Totally called Rooster on the Idol and gave some good info to the other tribe.

Initially, I was against having an "all-star" on each team, but it did spice things up a bit. Problem is I still don't know the names of many of these players.

I now hope someone on B-Rob's team wins it all. I don't want anyone involved with throwing that challenge last week to win it. Just stupid.

I'm very surprised the Redemption Island challenge didn't favor Russell.

I was glad to see Russell go, as his routine was growing old the last time he was on the show. Rob, on the other hand, seems to have learned from his previous seasons and is playing well.

Good season, so far.

With tears in his eyes, and in the most un-manly fashion possible, the Russell era has finally come to a close. While I was never a hater of the guy (he was entertaining), it will be nice to see some new faces in the finals this season. Luckily the live Finale this time around won't turn into The Russell Show yet again. Though, if he gets to talking & on a roll...who knows (?) He says this is his last, but I doubt it. If they ever do another Survivor All-Stars again, you know he won't be able to resist.

*pssst* Your crystal ball is broken.

Russell crying aside...my favorite part was Rob pretending he was backed up and going to find the Idol. It's amazing how naive his tribemates are.

And the "spastic chihuahua" (genius name for her DiPSU224!) continues to annoy.

Kinda anti-climatic ending tonite. You knew it would be one of the 2 going to Redemption. There was a lot of good camera work though. Those 5 are getting so cocky, I hope that they get crushed soon.

Rob switching the clues was genius. Well, in a twisted Russell type of way.

Maybe Boston Rob will become the next Russell for the remainder of the season.

The best part of the Redemption Island twist is the first third of the show is now devoted to redemption challenges. These are more interesting than straight reward challenges, because more is at stake.

FYI - The show and Probst have been renewed through a 23rd and 24th season.

Some nice camera work again this week. I just hope that the Purple tribe keeps on losing...and losing...and losing after throwing that challenge. So stupid to keep the worthless girl and get rid of the "bulldog". They need to win challenges to keep the tribe together. You can always tell who the Rooster votes for...it is always misspelled. Stifinie...really? Grant and Natalie had it going on in that challenge. Just beautiful execution.

Agreed, SAV, I'm not a fan of throwing challenges, either. I'm starting to feel sorry for that guy on Redemption Island. He's won, what, 4 challenges in a row and still has not been allowed to return to the game. Let the kid back in already!

About time they saw how useless Sarita was. And it has to hurt Steph to see that if she would have just stuck around one more week she could have gotten back in the game. I just hope that Matt does win another one and gets back in instead of the worthless Sarita.

And things should spice up a bit with the Merge.

Did you see how many times Sarita said "Help Me" during the challenge? Holy cow - help yourself!! Looking forward to the merge - they are going to have their hands full with Grant in those individual skill challenges. He's unreal. Reminds me of Colby and JT (in their original seasons).

Poor Matt...the dude is gonna be stuck there the whole game. But how stupid do you have to be to tell B-Rob that you seriously thought about switching teams, though. And from that whole thing happening, I do think David will abandon his original tribe and flip. He see's how good B-Rob is playing and knows that he is lowest on the totem pole on his tribe. I mean all of those on B-Rob's team are just followers and have no clue...or at least haven't shown one so far.

And I agree with Dave that it was a "genius move" to send Matt packing again. He's the one who they could have possibly gotten to flip. Phil is way out there. He yammered on for 15 minutes during the Redemption challenge.

I liked Nat's little celebration after winning the idol...can't believe the camera was at the perfect angle to catch that...:p

They are all too stupid to get rid of Rob. And once they decide to, he's too smart to not see it coming and use the Idol. Poor Ralph - trying to save his friend and wasting the Idol. I wonder if anyone will catch on that someone has the other one when no new clues come out.

Great move by Rob. Long-term, Matt and Andrea would be a tight bloc vote. If Rob unloaded one of the Zaps, he'd have five tight in his alliance against four Zaps with Matt and Andrea as wild cards. Now, she's fully in his alliance.

I wouldn't be surprised if the previews we saw of Grant buddying up to the Zaps were all premeditated by Rob and Grant to let the Zaps think he might flip. It keeps the Zaps from focusing on one of the Oms that might flip. Rob knows what he's doing.

I loved Matt's last line of the ep as he goes back once again to RI - "I guess I'm not very good at this game". Heh.

I also love that the Tribe name is complete gibberish and something made up by Amber. Heh heh.

Just goes to show you how dense those playing are - whenever ANYONE volunteers a name that means something in the language of the country they are in - it's a LIE!!!

I bet Russell is laughing his @$$ off that after his team voted him off it's been all downhill since then. How stupid to throw a challenge when you haven't even gotten to the merge? I mean I completely agree that a team that trusts Russell is messed up because you've seen him play...but he is still a body on your team! I hope Rob's tribe picks off the others one by one. And if the rest of his tribe was smart - they'd keep Rob until the end...everyone hates him, no one would give him the million.
