Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites

Brandon was right in his turn on phillip.. but at the same time his method was that of an unstable child. Phillip ultimately got the best of him with his stoic approach. As much as I hate Phillip.. brandon was just the weaker one in his emotional and rational control.

If he wanted to be vindictive.. he should have quit right there instead of being voted out.. forcing the favorites to the challenge when they thought they wouldn't have to.. risking a double elimination.

I figure they knew Reynold was the great shot... but Eddie... not sure on that one. It was a close one.. I would have focused on one guy at a time.. but that's me :)

I think Eddie has better strength then all of them. He hasn't really gotten a chance to show it, though. Reynold, however, has great accuracy when throwing. Something tells me he's a former quarterback/pitcher in high school and/or college.

sometimes you don't know how unstable someone really is until they snap. Brandon has always been a little unhinged, but OMG...

I agree, it looks like they're going to shuffle the teams next week.

Was out of town, but just got caught up last night.

Very interesting show. Brandon was right, but wrong how he handled it. They are either going to mix up the teams or maybe they can do a "one world" type of thing and make them co-exist on the same beach, but not merge.

I think the Fave's are too knowledgeable to let this Brandon/Philip thing totally destroy them. They'll be shocked, but then deal with it. They still have a 2 person lead.

Reynold finding the idol again was a nice twist to it all.

I too would have thought Eddie on the rope holding it instead of Michael. He seems pretty weak overall.

Anyone else notice that Brenda had a very noticeable limp in her left leg during the coconut/Basket challenge? Then at the Immunity where Brandon flipped out, she had her buff tied down over her knee. definitely something to monitor if it ends up costing the Fave's.

we saw that and thought she might have hurt herself on those floating steps during the challenge. Everyone was taking nasty falls on those

That was insane! I hardly watch Survivor. But, my mom left it on the TV when she went to bed. Now, the favorites are going to starve because of him. To think he threatened to burn down their 'shelter'?! Crazy.

Luckily they saved a lot of the rice. I couldn't believe Brandon did that. But then again, he's a Hantz. I wonder what Uncle Russell thought sitting at home and watching his nephew implode like that. Would he be proud or humiliated? I know he was pretty peeved at Brandon for playing too wimpy in his last appearance on the show... but this is overkill, dont'cha think?

This season is a good one so far.
The reunion should be great this year. Getting Brandon, Phillip and Shamar back should be fun.
I will say though, if I was out there I'd try to take Phillip to the final vote with me. Phillip is the type of guy that nobody would vote for if he made it to the final.

Watching the Amazing Race, and saw a commercial for this week's Survivor. In it, they give away that they are shuffling teams this week.

Malcolm and Andrea end up on the same team.

I'm confusing myself now. They're already on the same team, aren't they?

Wait, enlighten me on the happenings of Survivor. When they shuffle teams do they all end up going back to their original teams, or do they permanently stay that way? Is there a normal tribal counsel still? And doesn't shuffling teams defeat the purpose of Fans against Favorites?? I guess I'm just a little confused.

If it is the official merge, then both tribes will combine into one large tribe. During the challenges, each player will compete for individual immunity. Only that one person will be safe at tribal council, but ALL members have to attend. In most cases when the merge happens, all players live in the same location.

Though you never know with Survivor, as they may pull surprises. (But I'm still betting it's the merge this week).

In the commercial I saw, They were all out at a challenge, on the mats, and Probst said "we're switching teams."
So, I don't think it's the merge yet.

They've done just about every combination..

They've sent just a handful of people between teams..
They've done pick'ems..
They've done temporary trades..
They've done random distributions...
They've done winners vs losers..
etc

In some seasons they had more teams at the start (3 or 4) and the 'theme' (like young vs old, etc) only is the start. In many seasons when there are multiple teams.. they've done swaps like these to help shake things up and in turn prevent an alliance from just making the season boring. It seems like lately they've been merging earlier.. and once you get to the merge there is only one group (tho they often break up into teams for reward challenges). But this one coming up appears to just be a classic reshuffle of the teams and hopefully go at least 4 more eliminations before they merge.
