Surprise reshuffle of Vice Presidents at the Walt Disney World parks on the horizon?

At this point it's quite likely that Phil will stick around much longer than I anticipated, he may even be there to open the first phase of Studios expansion in 2018.
I agree that he could be there for the first phase of the studios expansion since I mentioned earlier in this thread about him being at DHS 1-3 years. What I'll be surprised is if he stays when the final phase is completed since he would be 69 in 2021.

Does this mean we can finally take down that ridiculous painting in new fantasyland?
It's one of the most self-congratulatory things I've ever seen. At least the Iger and Staggs beers exhibit some degree of subtlety. The Holmes portrait is just tacky.

"Along with the change of park Vice Presidents, new General Managers of Park Operations have been installed at both the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom"

Is this of any significance with respect to park maintenance? I don't know what these people do, but I want someone to get the Kali effects all working again. Can this person influence refurbs and the condition of the attractions?

Didn't feel this was worthy of a separate thread, but Danny Cockerell's new GM of Ops at the MK (essentially the No. 2 on the management pole) is 25-year WDW veteran Tim Sypko.

Sypko has had a variety of 'leadership' roles at WDW since 1990, most recently as a Director of Parks and Lodging (arrival experience ... whatever that is). He was the GM of DAK for just about three years (2011-14) prior. He has extensive labor relations experience.

The only other thing I can add was Disney had wanted Cockerell to assume this position as soon as New Fantasyland was finished, to give Phil a crowning achievement to go along with that horrific picture to ride off into the sunset, and well ... Phil just isn't ready to quit. So, this position allows him to appear to be presiding over something huge (the rebuilding, renaming and reBRANDing of TPFKaTD-MGMS) while allowing the future king to ascend a step closer to the crown. But no way Phil will be around when this project concludes early next decade.

Am I throwing in the towel too fast with the park formerly known as the Studios? I just lost all hopes of anything positive coming to the park now that Phil Holmes is the VP there. How much time before Rock n Roller Coaster refurbs and maintenance get pushed out and the ride turns into a rougher version of DLP Space Mountain?
