Surge Pricing Holding Up (Semi) Annual Increase ...

Andrew C

You know what's funny?
A lot of people from what I have read. And many point to your second thought as the reason.

If they are pointing to my second thought, then they are not suffering through it because it is the trip they have always done. They are suffering through it because their family still enjoys it. They are making a sacrifice for their family, rather than just blindly going somewhere even though they dislike it. There is difference here.

Nothing was made cheaper ticket wise with this decision. One day prices at the time were the baseline and then it went up from there.

Not quite... WDW wasn't made cheaper. DL value ticket was reduced. Given that the conversation started with the comparison to USH, it makes sense to compare to DL, though I should've been more specific in my post.

Then let's just focus on the suffering through a trip for any reason, which like I said, many still are. Whether the excuse is family, routine, DVC points, whatever.

There are tons of posts here by folks who decry the deteriorating attractions, trash, budget cuts, overcrowding, and price increases (all of which even the rosiest-colored glasses people can't deny).

Then say "well, hopefully things are better on our bounce back trip. We're staying at POFQ..." yada yada yada.

As I said. Glad to see people now starting to speak with their wallets.

Yes, I was only speaking of WDW. I'm not up to speed on the DL policy.

Not to mention the reduction in quality and amount in food while prices have been increased.
She really needs to see the overall thing, not just the tickets.

Except Disneyland and CAD are about to suffer as well.
If the leaked info was correct. Both parks will also close earlier, have less capacity (despite record attendance) and probably have to dish the same OR MORE money for less.

You said you'd stopped posting in this thread.

Truly bizzare. Do you work at or for Celebration Place?
No. What is bizarre, is you quickly deleting your post before I could respond?

Remember this thread was dead and buried well into page four until I resurrected it. So, please spare me -- if the topic was that important it would have been on page one.

Honestly, there are much more pressing matters at hand, that I still have yet to address with you. So...

You can always refer to this...

ETA: that is not real, its PS. I dont want any wannabe DSMM's who lurk around here wasting their time searching for it:)
LOL. This is so good, I thought it was real. Disney should really hire you!

Well its marginally better than being in your shoes, I dont have a corporate pimp, like your good self for example, despite my punctuation failings.
And I suggest you need an appointment a specsavers to help with your observations.
I don't need eyeglasses, my vision is perfectly fine and my observations are accurate as further demonstrated in this thread. Just because you say otherwise, doesn't make it so. LOL, I don't have a pimp of any kind. So, please stop trying to project your hoe-ish ways on to me. Thanks so much!

Pricing will be what the market will bear - so let's see if it holds up.
You really are a gentleman. ***swoons***

I agree with Katie on everything she eloquently stated here. And, here is the article -- LA Times: Universal Studios raises ticket prices before it opens new Harry Potter attraction

Marni's post is still there. But keep up the excellent effort, trying to put the focus on the competition and all....

I've been voting with my wallet for a while now, Still have DVC points though and with what's going on it looks like it's time to sell as there does not seem to be any change in trajectory at TWDC.

Also, The LA Times just did an article on how Universal *quietly* raised ticket prices 20%, right before it opens the new Harry Potter attraction. But what stood out to me more than anything is the fans reactions -- they totally support it!

If Disney had done the same thing, especially *quietly* -- the Disney fan community reaction would have been in a uproar, IMO.
Uhh... I'd gladly pay more if Disney opened a new area the quality of Harry Potter. The difference is that Disney raises prices while making cuts to staffing, reducing park hours, and not adding anything. So apples/oranges in ever single way.

If you raise prices but bring quality that warrants it- Im all for it. If you decrease prices and decrease quality- Im ok with that. If you raise prices and decrease quality- Im against it as its greed for greed's sake, pure and simple.

Now, shouldn't you be scanning magic bands right now or are you on break?

Are you real? Or are you, like, one of those Microsoft Twitter bots or something?
