I just saw a post where someone had a reservation a Supercalifragilistic Breakfast with Mary Poppins.
If anyone as any info on this restaraunt could you tell me about it? Where is it? What breafast food is served? Is it any good?
I am wondering if it is worth it to pay out of pocket for this breakfast or just choose another.

it is at the 1900 park fare in the grandfloridian. the menu was GREAT, buffet style. i was going to try and go in august, but when i talked to my TA, she said the restaurant will be closed for refurb until october. they moved everything around, so they still have it, at narcossee's i think, however the menu isnt buffet style, its already plated, though still all you care to eat. the buffet itself was what got me, many, many choices, and you just dont get all that when they are bringing you food...but mary poppins and alice will still be there, so if its the characters you want, go for it! they were a plus for me, but, well, i like my food. :slurp:

you can check out the menu here http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_19b.htm

We may have to try that...I will have to look at reservations already made to see what will be the best day to try.

Thank you everyone for answering my question and telling me about this gem!!

Oh Meyla Weyla
I only had two complaints:

1. It was pretty noisy, but that's to be expected given the obvious!
2. Tigger totally messed up my hair :hammer: I have really long hair and he rubbed his big 'ol paw all over the top of my head and left me with hair all over the place  He and the boyfriend thought it was quite funny :animwink:

We really loved it as well. The food was really great! They had omelet stations that were really good. And of course the mickey waffles. My kids could live on those!

the meals are actually going to be plated and brought to you, not buffet style. so you wont get the custom eggs and omelets and what not.

heres info from allears:

UPDATE: The Grand Floridian Resort's 1900 Park Fare will close for refurbishment Monday, July 9, 2007, through Monday, October 1, 2007, and is scheduled to reopen October 2, 2007. During this time, the Grand Floridian Cafe will become the site for both the "Supercalifragilistic Breakfast" and "Cinderella's Gala Feast." These will both be character meals, but NOT buffets (as they are at 1900 Park Fare) -- they will be pre-plated character meals.

The a la carte menu usually offered at Grand Floridian Cafe will NOT be available there during this time. Citricos (located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian), however, will expand its hours and menu to include a la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. If you want to dine at the Grand Floridian Cafe during this time, it can be ONLY for the character breakfast or character dinner -- you will NOT be able to book a reservation otherwise.

In addition, the Wonderland Tea Party will NOT be available during the 1900 Park Fare refurbishment.

Okay, if I am understanding this correctly, on Oct 1 when 1900 Park Fare reopens it will again be a character buffet, right?

I have ressies in November for dinner, but would cancel in a heartbeat if it was pre-plated. They ruined Cinderella Castle with that, and it just isn't worth the price for us to have such a limited selection of entrees.

Thanks!

Well, looks like I will look to Poly for my character breakfast this August. Too bad; maybe I will make ADRs for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast for the December trip.

or check out the buffet at chef mickeys this trip, ive heard fab things about that too, and the menu is similar to the supercalifragilistic one. (whew!) we are going to do that this trip, and as much as i want to see alice and the mad hatter, AND mary poppins, i think that will have to wait. oh well, something to look forward to for next time! theres no way to fit in EVERYthing in a week, i dont think...

^^Thanks for the suggestion, but we're doing that for dinner. I know it will have a different menu for breakfast, but I want to experience as many different settings as possible, since we'll be on the dining plan (hopefully) for the first time.

They did tell us that it was going to be in the Grand Floridian Cafe'. And I really don't mind that, atleast I don't think I do. Now that evreyone is not doing it because it is not buffet is scarying me though. Do you think the food is not going to be as good? I am not much of a buffet eater and personally i don't eat alot. Money really is not a problem, since this is the only meal that we are paying for out of pocket. The rest of our food is free.:) I just want to enjoy the experience and the menu looked really good. Will the same food be served even without the buffet?

I don't have any more details than what is in this thread, but "pre-plated" means they offer you a small selection of entrees (usually 5 I believe), and usually a shared table app and dessert. Our family just doesn't find them a value, because usually the choices strike us as...odd and if we are going to pay that much for a meal that isn't AYCE we'd rather go someplace else with a full menu and just order what we want.

Cinderella's Royal Table used to have a normal, full, a la carte menu for lunch and dinner and we used to find it a good value. When it went to pre-plated we haven't been back since. We'd all have to work very hard to find something we'd like enough to eat. With 1900 Park Fare, Disney usually does such a great job with variety on buffets that everyone can find something they really like. We'd pick another restaurant if it was going pre-plated permanently. They tried that with the Garden Grille a year or two ago, and switched back due to guest complaints. They got away with it at Cindy's because they could get away with selling you a fast food hamburger for $50 that place is so in demand to eat at.

Then again, you have to keep in mind that my family doesn't do these meals just for the characters. We like the characters, and it's a great way to meet them, but to us it usually doesn't make a difference if it's princesses or Pooh characters of the fab 5. So those that have young ones looking for specific characters would find the value different than we would. It's not a big deal to go to a different meal if this one doesn't return to a buffet by our ressies in Nov.

I'm sure the food will be fine...I'm very curious to see when a menu shows up. It just wouldn't be for our family because we prefer the Disney buffets and AYCE family-style, so everyone gets enough of whatever their favorite items in the meal are.

You could try to character b'fast at Cape May Cafe' at the BC resort or 'Ohana's Best Friends b'fast at the Poly.
