Dave Bautista Now Says He's No Longer Sure He Wants To Work For Disney After James Gunn's Firing

Uh oh
If Disney wants to sue him for backing out of his contract, I’m sure they can/will.

Also, nothing is stopping them from reshooting a few scenes for Avengers 4 to kill off the character. Mantis can play off of the other Guardians, and the team will be getting a new sixth ranger when Adam Warlock joins them.

In terms of people going into GotG3 wondering where Drax is... I kind of doubt that people will ask. 98% of people who will see the movie (whenever it comes out) will have watched Infinity War and A4, and the other 2% won’t know the difference.

Orrrrrr Disney will recast him with The Rock.

Exactly, they don't need drax. Like you said they have choices if they want. Sure Adam is one, but they could just as easily kill of drax in A4 and work Korg into guardians 3. I don't want them to get rid of drax, but he sure is making it hard for them not to.

I feel like Disney’s trying to appeal to both camps with this. I’d rather they use his script than not, but it just feels a little disingenuous.
Of course it feels that way, because it is. If what Gunn had done was so bad, that Disney could no longer be associated with him. Then they shouldn’t use his work at all. The whole thing is a joke when you break it down. Hey we have to let you go for some things you said 10yrs ago, even though we hired you after you said them. And even though you haven't done anything wrong under our employment we are too scared of the PC police so you have to go. But hey, we're still going to use your script because we should be able to slip it past the PC crowd and maybe it will appease the actors. Thanks and have a magical day.

My point was that people who are so wrapped up in comic-book mythology that they defend Gunn's garbage as "jokes" have issues. People should be held responsible for what they do and say. And especially if they're employed by a company that is regarded by most as the ultimate "family-friendly" company on earth. Rehiring Gunn is a horrible decision, obviously based on money, and even that reason is stupid, because you can't tell me there aren't other directors out there who could the Guardians property justice. I mean come on, we're not talking "War and Peace" here. It's a second-tier comic starring third-rate characters, even by Marvel standards. What's the big deal?

Welp...if you needed any more evidence that the Walt Disney Company isn't Walt Disney's company anymore....

This is sick beyond belief.

What he tweeted was much worse than Roseanne, but will she be rehired? Hah, don't hold your breath. (And I'm not talking politics here, I'm talking about hypocrisy. But you can bet that the reason the Robert Iger Company won't rehire her is based on politics! ) And PUH-LEEZE don't say "oh, he apologized", "oh, they were just JOKES"...anyone who would come up with such horrific garbage in the first place in an attempt to be "funny" or "edgy" is a sick low horrible person.

But oh boy the Guardian fanboys are rejoicing! Because Guardians fanboys are so convinced that ONLY James Gunn could successfully write and direct a movie about a trigger-happy raccoon (hey, how about that Mosque shooting in New Zealand!) and a talking asparagus stalk that you're all cheering about this money-motivated lapse of moral judgement.

It is truly sad the priorities some people have in relation to entertainment. What lives they must lead, if they have lives, which isn't likely.

God, I hate you, Robert Iger. You are scum.

Roseann's tweet was... recent, contemporary. That makes it pretty much an indicator of who she is and what she thinks and believes now.

Gunn's tweets were in the past. Long deleted and not at all repeated anywhere in the recent past. Gunn immediately apologized and blamed only himself and didn't attack Disney. Also, he has shown that he's not going to embarrass Disney again with such tweeting.

Roseann, however, has never stopped being the provateur and blaming her tweets on Ambien is a red flag for keeping her employed. When will the next Ambien-fueled tweet happen? 🤷‍♂️
