Correct me if I am wrong but was it not last year around this time when Summer Nighastic was announced for WDW? Anyone here think we may be hearing something soon for this year? Any press events coming up that may include info?

They just had that big press event for the FLE/Disney Dream if they are going to have another announcement I would expect them to wait a couple weeks.

What would they announce anyway??? MLEP is still here. TT effects?

The only thing they could announce would be the return of the Nightastic fireworks... well, and maybe the TT effects!?!

Last year they also announced "extended hours" at DAK as part of Summer Nightastic.

There are certainly things they could announce this year- the return of Summer Nighttastic fireworks, perhaps additional Fantasmic performances, extended hours at DAK again, ToT effects, and so on.

Given how successful the promotion was last year, I'd be a little shocked if at the very least, they didn't bring back the Summer Nighttastic fireworks this year.

I am a die-hard Wishes fan. That said, the Summer Nightastic fireworks were amazing. We watched from Main Street, and also from the beach at the Poly. Both awesome shows.

That was a great success last summer, but I think a lot of it had to do with the return of MSEP, and those die-hards flocking back to it.

While this does not pertain to Summer Nightastic and I do not know the strenghth of this rumor, I heard there may be a new daytime parade headed to the MK in May....

Great! I can't wait to experience more recycled entertainment branded as new, and cheap, tacky looking effects added to E-ticket rides!

I am cautiously optimistic. The Orlando Sentinel had reported that attendance for the summer last year was flat with the previous year. AND last year at this time, they were only doing Wishes a few times a week during the slow season (I assumed to save up for the larger budget of summer fireworks). But so far - Wishes hasn't taken a night off this year. So...I am REALLY hoping they bring it back - but I will feel so much better when I hear an announcement....

Pretty sure they never had Wishes down to a few times a week. There is a fireworks show, Wishes or special holiday fireworks every night.

Well, that's why it was so unusual. As you entered the Magic Kingdom, they had signs up saying "The next performance of Wishes will be _____ (usually the next day). They are still doing this with the nighttime parade this year, but fireworks have continued every night. Again, they only did this last year during January and the first half of February. I remember a bunch of us who go our regularly commenting on how weird it was, but it seemed to make sense when we got the "extra" summer fireworks.

And you'd be correct. The only night MK Fireworks team gets the night off is Night of Joy nights.

I would like to corroborate this - we were there at the end of January last year, and during our short stay there was at least one night if not two with no Wishes.

You probably hit the press event night. Since Wishes started MK has ran fireworks for guests every night, with just a few occasions such as press event nights, one of which lands in January.

MissBunny and I must have been there the same day. Haha! I suppose its moot anyways. I will still be really interested to see if Nightastic continues. I guess if they didn't suspend fireworks last year like I thought, our chances are just as good for this year then! ::Holds breath:: ;)

Would love the chance to see the perimeter fireworks! I love Wishes, but would love to change it up with a show I haven't seen before!

if they dont bring back the Summer Nightastic Fireworks, then they could atleast add permiter to Wishes as a treat for summer
