Summer Nightastic 2011 news?

My hopes of a Summer Nightastic return are dwindling a bit. I am assuming this is a media press release from Disney about the upcoming summer season.... No mention of anything regarding Summer Nightastic. Sigh...

http://allears.net/news/dd_summer2011.htm

They don't say anything about it coming back to DL either, but I have heard Magical will be back this summer! So while it might not be pushed as such I am sure it will be back in some form here at DL and there at MK!

if they dont bring back the Summer Nightastic Fireworks, then they could atleast add permiter to Wishes as a treat for summer

Ya, I know a lot of people love Wishes, but I have seen it a hundred times. And though it is an absolutely amazing show, and I will probably never be tired of it, I am a huge fan of seasonal events and shows. Disneyland is very good at this - and it looks like WDW is kinda testing it out... Anyways, hope we get our Nightastic fireworks.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say if anything special is going on, we will be hearing about it in the next day or two. Supposedly, discounts for the summer are to be released April 1st. And Disney almost always loves using the discounts to promote any seasonal events. Guess we will see....

Well Marni, I'm sure you heard it from the inside. We will be happy with wishes but hope the powers at be change their minds. If you want perimiters in the summer be there July 3rd and 4th at MK!

It now looks like no SNFS for 2011.

That's a shame. If WDW wants to move away from the Nightastic branded summer events, which was a Disneyland clone any way and maybe it wasn't working as well for the WDW market, then perhaps they could bring back the summer fireworks show for MK but just not call it the Summer Nightastic Fireworks Spectacular?

TDO could call it Kitty Litter In The Sky if they want to, but it seems people would enjoy seeing the Nightastic show regardless.

Hahaha! Unfortunately, I have a feeling that if Summer Nightastic doesn't return it is the fault of the fireworks. With the perimeter fireworks, they were significantly more expensive than Wishes. The rumor I heard was that the reason why they did it in the first place last year was because the pirate/princess parties were discontinued, but they already had the fireworks, so they decided to use them up over the summer. I was hoping that they proved to be popular enough for it to be an annual summer tradition, but guess not...

Nope. They had stock for less than a half dozen MM&M shows. The extra pyro was bought especially for last years shows (with not some small difficulties)

More supply issues.

Could it be said that they decided against doing this show due to in part of supply issues?

I would like to think that its not because of cost. I'm sure disney in this aspect is like apple. You use so much of it that you get decent prices since you consume so much. I would guess these perimiters amounted to no more than 2500$ per show, if that. R&D had already been done and programing was already inplace.

How much does it cost for Wishes each night? I would also hope that this decision is not based on cost.

Honestly, with the number-crunchers that seem to be running the resort lately, I wouldn't be surprised if cost is a big contributor. I think Wishes is estimated between $20k-30k a night.

To be honest, I loved the Summer Nightastic fireworks, but I would be happy with anything different to switch up Wishes for the summer season.
