Searchlights are Hollywood, showbizz, LA, Art Deco.

I have no idea, but, the thought comes to mind if this might be Homeland Security Related????? What level are we currently at anyway?

I think we're at either taupe or vermilion, the only difference being whether you put your under drawers on backwards or your socks when flying on even numbers days with 3 or more vowels.

(and yes, that was sarcasm, pretty sure we're actually at orange but since there is no real info on what to do at each level why bother. I have heard numerous homeland security mouth pieces chunter on and on about how important it is.. yet they don't mention it anywhere on their own homepage)

I have no idea how Trollorail can look at the studio with then without and not get it, but it's more that just missing lights, it's abot a bigger problem within Orlando. For what Disney is charging for tickets, they can afford to run the lights just like they use too.

Absolutely beautiful. I remember seeing them from our resort room and thinking how cool that was.

Yes, we could spend our lives repeatedly bending over, getting screwed, or we could call people for their laziness and demand quality.
You are getting screwed because the company didn't turn on a spotlight? A spotlight, by the way, that doesn't actually light up anything.

Really???

It's angst like this thread that marginalizes every fanboy complaint on this site.

OMG! The world is ending because there are no spotlights at Hollywood Studios! Seriously people, GET OVER IT and MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE!

Wow, now who is getting bent out of shape? Calm down, guy. You are getting way too agitated for something that you supposedly don't care about.

You got schooled. It happens. Take yer licks, accept it, and move on. :)

It's ok, it's always balanced out by new folks like yourself who haven't been around long enough to see the same silly mistakes made over and over again, or who have not seen the quality reduction first-hand, and still have that cute wide-eyed naivete when it comes to TDO (That's Team Disney Orlando, FYI).

It's OK, we forgive you - we've seen it before. We'll talk in a few years when the light bulb comes on and we can have a discussion on the same level.

Its like any USG program immortal and expensive and no one will make the decision to shut 'er down, Perhaps we should replace congress with TDO they would fix the spending quick

And it's posts like this that help Disney justify cost-cutting in the parks.

The lights represent a commitment to theme and details. Nobody actually cares about the damn lights themselves.

Exactly. Loss of one thematic item would be forgivable; we've seen a wave of decisions like this.
