I love how NBC has the nerve to debut, in one single season, no less than two different shows so obviously based on the behind-the-scenes world of Saturday Night Live:... Studio 60 & 30 Rock.
I loved it, I was hooked right after that speech. I wish I could find a transcript. Great cast too. Matthew Perry is one of my favorite actors and Amanda Peet is one of my favorite actresses. Actually I retract my previous statement and would like to say that I was hooked right from the day that they annnounced Matthew Perry was returning to TV and then when I heard Amanda Peet was going to be joining him I was even more hooked
I can't wait for next week. Best of luck in the Fall TV Runnings "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" :sohappy:
"I'm in charge of Broadcast Standards and Practices, I'm not in charge of funny."
Personally, I could love both shows, but I don't think either has the gas to go more than one season....if they even make it that far.
I'm still bummed they drastically cut Rachel Dratch's part from 30 Rock after she had already announced her departure from SNL.
No wonder Comedy Central gains audience share every year.....
As info....here is the gutted SNL Cast for this season:
The official cast list for the new season of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" is missing five familiar faces.
Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch previously announced their departures for NBC's primetime comedy "30 Rock," but it was revealed eight-year veterans Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz have been let go along with Finesse Mitchell, Zap2it.com reported.
The cast for the new season is Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Bill Hader, Darrell Hammond, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis, Kenan Thompson and Kristen Wiig.
Meyers will assume Fey's position as head writer along with Andrew Steele and Paula Pell.
Season 32 of "Saturday Night Live" debuts Sept. 30, with comedian Dane Cook hosting and The Killers.
That's a generational thing... we've all said it at some point, which I think is interesting. In another 5 years somebody will say the same thing about someone from the current cast.
