Stuck between two choices?

First a bit of history: I'm 23 and single planning on travelling alone. I've been to the World before last year (saw most of the attractions- only missed Great Movie Ride, Lights Motors Action and Mermaid at DHS, China, France, American Adventure at Epcot, Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress at MK and all of Rafiki's Island at Animal Kingdom). ALso there was no Toy Story or American IDol when I was there (though I have ZERO interest in the latter).

My two options right now are a roughly 10 day trip in July, with just 5 days at the parks (plus 2 at waterparks, a backstage tour, and Downtown Disney). Main reason is Rise Against is playing House of Blues July 20 and 21st (also not sure about tickets yet).

Other option is waiting until November 1st and staying til around the 18th and going all out with the 10 day park hopper package (plus a few days at a Universal area hotel <saw all of Universal last time too, but missed out onS ea World and Wet n Wild>).

Money is a bit of an issue of course, especially since I'd have less time to save for July.

Side note: I'm a Stitch fan, and hear his new show opens in September. Also of note: I love Space Mountain but it wouldn't be open either time anyways.

Any advice? I realize July is pretty bad for crowds but how many attractions/water parks should I expect to be closed in the fall, and will the hours be cut?

Personally, unless the concert is a huge deal to you, I would go in November. The crowds will be a lot lighter and the weather will be better. The Food and Wine Festival will be going on at EPCOT. Overall, it is a netter time of year to go when compared to July, IMO.

I would also recommend that you give AIE a chance. I absolutely hated the show, but I found the attraction really entertaining and well done. :wave:

I also agree...go with November.
It'll give you time to save more money for it, and it'll allow you to see the new Stitch attraction. Plus, IMO the weather is WAY better in November compared to July.

I have to agree with others and say go in November. That is the only time of the year that we go. The weather is great...and the crowds are much lighter than the summertime crowds which will make the trip more relaxing. The xmas decor won't be up until mid-november, but at least you'll still be there for it! It is something not to be missed.. wdw does an amazing job getting the place dressed up for xmas!

Except for the concert, definitely another vote for November.
Weather is better, Food and Wine, much less crowded!, more discounts potentially available. Also, as per your discussion, more time to save for it.

Last I heard, May 6th is the opening date for Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration, so you'd get to see it this summer. But I completely agree with the others about waiting until November. Much more pleasant weather, lighter crowds, and better deals on hotels. Plus Food & Wine will be wrapping up, so you’ll get to enjoy that. And having more time to save if DEFINITELY a plus. Goodness knows you’ll use it!

House of Blues often has maybe great acts throughout the year, usually ranging from $20-30 for a ticket, so even if it’s not Rise Against, you’re likely to find someone to check out, especially if you’re spending a couple weeks in the World. Also, Food & Wine will have bands playing on the weekends (I believe they’re cutting back on weekday acts like they did for the Flower & Garden festival). Usually it’s acts that have been around a while (I saw The Ventures a couple weekends ago) and last year, the first weekend of F&W 2008 was Big Bad Voodoo Daddy! The shows are free and there are 3 30-minute sets a night.

Another November vote here. You could save more, stay longer, have less crowds, cooler weather, get to see the parks decked out in the Fall decorations and possibly get free dining. (not sure abo9ut the exact dates for free dining so check on that one)

July will be crazy packed, and you would have 5 days in the park. November wouldn't be as packed, and you'd have 10 days in the park. So even if park hours are shorter in November, you will still get so much more done.

The heat won't be as devastating in November as it will in July. You'll have an easier time getting ADR's. I'd just all around say November is a better time to go.

I am with the gang here. July is hot, and if you already concerned with missing certain attractions you will have better luck in November I would think. Plus selfishly I have always wanted to go down myself in the fall.....

Probably should've read this before but I figured going in July for a week will be a nice getaway, and hopefully in 2010 I can do the full she-bang! Plus I was pleasantly surprised and SHOCKED to find tickets on ticketmaster for BOTH concerts! I know HoB only holds maybe 2,000. Rise is playing where I live in June (going to that also) in a capacity 17,000 venue and it's probably at least 50% sold out.
