Stroller cover?

I need some ideas as to what you all use to cover your strollers to protect them from the rain.

I have two Combi strollers (the small ones) and would like a cover to throw over them when I park them so they wouldn't get soaking wet. I'm assuming I'm going to have to deal with rain in Sept.!?! I've looked online and have found a few stroller covers that look like they might work but of course nobody ships to Canada!:brick: There's nothing to be found where I live - only big ones which would take up a lot of space and drag the ground (b/c they're designed for the bigger strollers).

I wondering if I can rig something up with ponchos - do you think that would work!?! I don't know what my other options would be!?!

Thanks for your help!

1st check their site and see if they make them. If not you sure can use ponchos, you just might need to tie them onn so they don't blow off.

We took a Maclaren Twin Triumph to WDW in July, and it came with a rain cover. I'm not sure if any other brands sell them, but the one we had fit the stroller so snugly that our kids stayed nice and dry while DH and I got totally drenched!!

I did see lots of WDW strollers with rain ponchos tossed over them, but they didn't seem to work very well.

We cut a piece of plastic from a heavier plastic drop cloth, and use a larger bungee cord to hold it down..........no worries ever in 9 years of strollering in the parks.

I had a Combi Ultra Savvy stroller and used a rain poncho when it rained and it worked fine. We were there last Sept and rained almost everyday and a day or two it rained all day. GL!!

I bought a cover at babies r us, so I know they exist. We used it at WDW a few times during our trip in 2006 and it was wonderful. I agree with having it shipped to the resort if you can't get it shipped to your house. You will be glad you have it.

We bought a cover for our jogging stroller and never used it. Too hard to get it on right. It worked just fine using a poncho. Just get a good one before you go that's big enough and not super thin. We also would 'try' to park under a tree if at all able to help shield from the rain. I think we ended up getting one of the Mickey Mouse one's but they are quiet a bit more expensive than the ones we could have got at home from one of the sporting goods stores.

Thanks for all your responses!

I've tried getting one shipped to our resort but all the sites that have what I want will not ship to a different address than your credit card address - maybe b/c I'm considered an international customer!?!

I've also tried our local Toys r Us/Babies r Us and they don't have a small one. They only have the one size which is too big for our Combi strollers - I've tried it!

I think I'm going to rig something up with a drop sheet my husband just brought home... I'll let you know how it goes...

This is the first thing that came to my mind, a drop cloth and some bungee cords. I remember standing in the rain waiting to get into FoLK show and getting soaked. I saw someone with a stroller cover and I went out and bought one. It's a must have for Disney, in the rain. :) Anyway, if I couldn't buy one, I would make one somehow.

We have a Maclaren that is a lightweight and BRU actually has their own brand cover that worked great and has the vents on the sides. Our daughters' double side by side Combi we got a Graco cover and it works well.

Hope you find something that works.

We use the thin cheap "dollar store" ponchos to cover our strollers. We've never had a problem. We actually like the hood hole, because we put it over our cupholders and use our drinks to hold the poncho in place.

We've used it to cover our stroller during the Playhouse Disney and many other shows during afternoon thunderstorms, with no problems. Our kids would sit in the strollers with the ponchos covering them to keep dry too! They love that they were thin and clear, so they could see out. Plus they are thin (ie: easy to carry) and cheap!

You could bring a small roll of scotch tape if you felt you needed to tape it down (I know.... one MORE thing to carry, but just a thought!)
