LMAO!

And Fantasiaboi, you made us laugh over lunch! Thanks! :)

Just to play Devil's Advocate here on this one as I've asked that question before myself. :drevil: Most of the MickeyD's I've been in do not even have the 9 piece meal advertised or showing on their menu. Hence the reason why people ask. Just keep in mind that what some think as stupid questions are happening because the person asking isn't able to find the information out on his/her own with the information provided by the establishment they visit. In other words...if it ain't posted anywhere and I want to find out about it, I'll be asking about it. ;)

see, that is half true...why is it half true? well i know for a fact! a FACT that we post our happy meals, it's the first menu board yes, but it is posted...people have flipped out because of this, ie where is your happy meals? i can't find them!...in fact most of the people who act like that are a little, uh, how can i put this litely, ignorant? one woamn aksed where they were, i told her she had passed them but if she was wondering the prices were(these are current prices in Charlotte, not the prices that i told her) Ham.- $2.15, Chees.-$2.47 no sooner had i said the price for a cheeseburger happy meal, she asked how much it was.:brick: i had one guy trying to tell me we needed to move them, why i told him why we couldn't (too expensive to move, wiring, needing to close drive-thru just to do it, etc) he kept saying "I understand but you need to movie it." obviously, he didn't understand otherwise he wouldn't have kept repeating himself. and for the record, our 9 piece nuggets are posted ;). and yes, OUR double cheeseburgers are STILL 99 cents

Happy Meal & 9 Piece Meal

HMGhost13 -- you are right, Happy Meals are posted on the menu board. But the statement I quoted from you was about 9 Piece [Chicken McNugget] Meal...which is not normally posted from what I have experienced. The 6 Piece meal is, however... Not to get in a tizzy over McD's menu items, but please remember which item was talked about... [sigh]

Generally, anyone in Customer Service [I have 6 years experience in different Call Centers including an office products company, a mail-order catalog and the US Post Office] will experience people asking questions that will either make them shudder at the sheer stupidity/naivety or be able to help someone and get that magic "warm fuzzy" feeling afterward. You just have to take each event as it comes and hopefully the nasty ones won't drag you down into the mire with them.

But if they do, as others here have posted, you just head off to your break room area and vent, vent, vent, scream, cry, vent some more...then take a deep breath and be thankful that you have a job to go off to in the morning when you wake up.

They say that because:

1. Some customers actually do straighten up messy displays now and then, especially if they once worked at that store.
2. Instead of saying "can you help" me, they say "do you work here?" which subtly reminds you that you are obligated to help them and also not to roll your eyes or sigh loudly when asked a question
3. They know it bugs the hell out of you, and secretly want you to make a sarcastic remark so they can rip you a new one in front of everybody.

Have any of you seen the "Nick Burns, you Company's computer guy" scetch on Saturday Night Live? Some of you seriously sound like him!

"was that so hard?" :)

A lot of you should know that there are a ton of people that don't know a lot about DIsney World, or whatever place you may work. Remember, you are the ones who work there every day, not them, so things that seem obvious to you take longer for one day guests to catch on to.

This is the best... I work at Disney Store and around Halloween I dress up as SnowWhite. Full costume and name badge. I actually had a guest come up to me and ask if I worked there!! "No, I just like to pretend I am Snow White!!"

i know this, i was stating another example, if you would. i also reittarated and said that it is posted, so i do not understand why someone would ask if something is posted right in front of their eyes. the happy meals, as i said, were another example i know exactly what was being talked about. in fact i was in a sense agreeing with you that somethings are not posted, the happy meals was showing an example of how something is posted, but not noticed, which happened with the nuggets. it's all an example, including the nugget statement, not something to argue over.

I dont' t know what it is, but no matter where I go, no matter what I am wearing, people always ask if i work there. It is very frustrating.

I get that too...

couple funny stories about that... I worked in a software store in high school that wore either a burgandy or blue polo w/ khaki pants. One night after work I went to Best Buy to get a stereo. The guy who was helping me must have been new, so he had this real confused look when I asked him where the stereo I wanted was. He was like, it's in back and looking at me like I should go back and get it. The kicker is that I left my heavy coat zipped so that customers wouldn't think I worked there.

Another time, we were out of playstation 2's, so the boss sent me to another best buy to pick up a few just so we'd have them on the shelf. I was wearing my burgandy shirt that day and had taken off my nametag, was pushing around a cart of like 5 PS2's and someone still asked me if i worked there. So I told him no, told him where i did work and that we had what he wanted. He thanked me and headed over :)

But I do get the "do you work here" all sorts of places. I was even at Sams Warehouse Club and was getting a shopping cart and some lady was reaching out to grab it as if I was one of those greater dudes who hands carts to people.

Anyway, enough of my thread drift. :)
