STRANGE GUEST STORIES or REQUESTS

This isn't really a dumb question, but a person could never imagine the number of times I am asked about lids and straws (Of course we don't have either at the park.) . I just wish I could announce over a loud speaker "We don't have lids and straws for the safety of the animals!!!!" One man in particular..... He must have asked me for straws three times, each time wording it differently. When I finally convinced him that we don't have straws, he yelled "F***!!!!!" Then he turned to me, smiled, politely said "ok", and left.

Now for my happy story!!!:sohappy:

One day, while working condiment bar, I was playing games with the cutest little kid. Some of the bussers were there too. The boy was so sweet..... hiding from us...... giving us high-fives, low-fives, and baby-fives. We gave hime a mickey pin. He got a picture with us. After we had spent about a half hour with the boy and his family, his mom thanked me. She told me that the boy is severely shy, to the point that it's difficult for him just to say goodnight to his parents! She said that we must be special people because her son was able to open up for us. I was so touched!

When I worked in Member Services for Disney Vacation Club, I had a lady call to make a reservation for "the hotel in the Magic Kingdom". I asked her if she meant the Contemporary Resort which is right across from the Magic Kingdom. "NO," she said "I want to stay in the hotel that's IN the Magic Kingdom!" I tried to explain that there was not an actual hotel in the park, but that the Contemporary was within walking distance and it had rooms that faced the Magic Kingdom. She kept insisting that there was a hotel INSIDE the park!

So, I says to her "OK, ma'am, I have you booked for two nights at Mickey's Magical Magic Kingdom Resort, is there anything else I can help you with? Maybe you'd like some dinner reservations at the restaurant inside Space Mountain? Or how about a spa treatment in the special Jungle Cruise Spa Boat?? Hmmmm??"

OK, I didn't really say that, but sheesh! I think I ended up transferring her to Central Reservations or to my manager or something...

well i'm not a CM at Disney...but i work close enough to that corp :animwink: i work at Mickey D's and i get all sorts of stuff...ahem:

-Do you sell happy meals here?

-Do you sell Big Macs? (Not kidding, lady actually asked me this. She had already been through no more than 2 minutes before she asked this)

-Can i get that King sized? (2+2=?)

-Are your Double cheeseburgers 99 cents? (No, after two years we decided five minutes ago that we weren't going to have them 99 cents anymore)

-Can i get that new grilled chicken fatbread or flatbead? does it come in a meal? (no every other item except the 20 piece and the grilled chicken flatbread comes in meals)

- Do fries come with that? (when they buy a happy meal or regular meal)

-Two phrases: Super-duper and great big ol' (nuff said)

two things, first off the stupidest thing I ever heard from a guest was when I worked Food and Wine 2k. Australa booth, Fosters wait why dont you have fosters.

I'd reply with "Well this is a Food and Wine festival, there are many great beers in the beer tent however fosters was not involved since this is a wine festival."

then they shook there heads

my fav guest memory is when I worked for Le Cellar as a pantry chef, I ran a kids in the kitchen with 2 young childern who wanted to make a desert, I showed them step by step and they followed along after the demo, about 3 hrs later I left and walked through the park to go home, the two childern came up to me (It was chance that they were walking out of the park at the same time) and asked me for my autograph I was so touched.

I worked the Australia tent part of the time at Food and Wine 2001 and we got the SAME question over and over.... Apparently everyone reallllly wants Fosters.

HMGhost13-

I feel your pain! I used to work there too! I also used to work in a movie theatre concession stand...I hated when people would ask me how much things cost - not like there wasn't that big a$$ menu above my head!

I have to stop now, or I might really get on a rant!

As someone who works at a Super Target (thats right, Super. Being a regular Target wasn't good enough!)
and deals with the general public alot, I have only one thing to say:
The general population consists of 80% regular people, and 20 % idiots. A mighty large, annoying group of 20 %, but 20 percent nonetheless.

I work at a department store. You would be suprised at how many people come up to me, while I am putting merchandise away, and ask "Do you work here?" I want to say, "No, I just can't stand a messy table."

I thought the saying was "Everyones a genius at doing one thing, and a idiot at everything else in their lives." :D

Whatever they are geniuses at, they must do it at home...
