I guarantee you that your Disney vacation will have a day or two of rain. Disney World is in Florda afterall (that means "showers" from late April to early October)! However, this will most likely not ruin your whole day :) Ive got questions from family/friends & saw questions on here & wanted to help....If you are at Disney & it starts raining, find a place to hide for 30 min...more than likely that is the worst of it for at least 2 hours...enjoy yourself & plan for the next downpour!

Rain has never ruined any one of our trips. I love it. We slap the ponchos on and truck along...

I've said/posted this before on another thread, but I have little places I duck into if the rains come and we aren't willing (I should say, the kid isn't willing) to do the poncho tour of Disney.

This is one of them (and if I run into other forum people here, I'll know whom to blame!)

It's a nice area, because I can duck out and get us refreshments from the food stand nearby, and we can wait for MK to drain (only park I can think of that actually floods for a bit in places during a hard rain)...

I don't mind the rain because, to be honest, it's a pleasant change from the usual freezing cold rain (which also seems always to accompanied by strong winds) that we get here in Scotland. Most don't mind getting wet on rides such as Splash Mountain, so what's so different about a little shower. Grin and bear it, the sun will come out soon and anyway, you're at Disney.

The only time rain impacted my vacation was back a few years when a Tropical Storm showed up and apparently had reservations for the week. The first few days were typical great August days- hot, humid, afternoon shower. The the tropical storm arrived. Every day we had monsoon winds, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain folllowed by a period of rain. Every morning there were special time cards handed out in the parks with messages that the parks might close early due to the storm.

It didn't kill my vacation, but it did impact it. I still did everything I wanted, but at the end of the day, we would retreat to the room, peel off wet clothes and sneakers and just try to dry out for a while.....

Other than that trip, I always welcomed a great thunderstorm with plenty of lightning. I love storms like that - especially late at night....

I spent the majority of our last 2 days of basic training in the prone position in steady rain at Benning. There is nothing short of Noah's flood that can stop me from enjoying Disney World. We just pop on our ponchos, toss one over the backpack on my back, and get back to business!!
