Stop being scared of RAIN!!

I don't mind the rain at all. Such a nice cool off (even if it does take off whatever remaining makeup the FL humidity has left behind).

However, it rains far more than 20 minutes. It rained for a good 2 hours our last trip and while it was beautiful, it REALLY puts a damper on things when you're in soaking wet jeans and shoes and you've got 3 kiddos sloshing around too. LOL

It's a great cool down and DOES empty the park though.

Well, they were calling it a hurricane. It was wild enough for me. Windy and hard rain. I guess you guys are used to that kind of weather. Orlando supposedly got the outer edge. It had just come ashore on the coast, well what was left of it I guess from what you guys say-- and I know you are accurate with your posts--when we got there. It rained solidly for three days and off and on for two more then it was beautiful our last couple of days.
Whatever it was, it supplied us with a great trip with very low crowds :D.
I believe people called it a hurricane! Bad enough is never bad enough for some people, lol. They must make it worse! Unfortunately, it leads to confusion for nice people like you. :) Sorry you had such a soggy vacation. Glad you were able to more the best of it! I do feel badly for people who come when it rains.

We had several tropical storms but no hurricanes and certainly no direct impacts.
No, in the event there had been an actual emergency, @PhotoDave219 ...I mean WeatherDave...would have been out in it, sending us updates, pics and film! ;)

Where is your hurricane film? I didn't bookmark it, but I will and won't ever ask you to post it again. The one where you're in the park and Disney announces that they're closing the park because a hurricane is coming and then wishes everyone a Magical Day, lol. With the duck. And at the motel, where you were opening doors and trying to get yourself killed. Can you share that once more?

I found it online. It was Tropical Storm Debby -June, 2012. It never made it to hurricane strength. It does show some pretty bad flooding and such. They were probably saying it could become a hurricane; not that it was a hurricane. All this time, I've been calling it Hurricane Debby. I can't believe no one else caught that. Maybe because they didn't know any better than I did that it didn't make it to hurricane status. I live in Ga. close to Atlanta, and in all my years, the only hurricane we were exposed to was in 1995. My daughter was 9 wks old. I think it was Opal, but could be wrong. That was a long time ago. We only got the leftover power of the storm. It was enough to pull our deck cover away from the house and knock down trees all over town. We had no power for days. We had to take the baby and go stay in a hotel. I would never want to be in a "real" hurricane. That little bit was terrifying.
We've been in some quick, powerful storms while in Panama City, but they were over so fast, we didn't have time to get worried.

I believed you the first time you said people called it a hurricane. :)

People love to blow stuff out of proportion. It can't just be rainy and windy, lol. It has to be a hurricane! It can't be a fire. It must be an inferno. Etc., etc.

People are silly.

My sister may be the silliest of them. If you ever want to meet someone who makes a bigger deal out of weather than should be made, allow me to introduce you to my sister, Queen of The Nervous Nellies...and Wild Exaggerators. :)
