They don’t. They really don’t. After all, why bring something back when it sells as much, if not more merch, through nostalgia channels.Maybe they really want Alien back..

But X-S Tech Alien Encounter, Skippy and S.I.R. is nostalgia! It would sell LOTS of merch! They don’t. They really don’t. After all, why bring something back when it sells as much, if not more merch, through nostalgia channels.
A group of Imagineers who were with WDI when it was WED and balked at the idea of an attraction based off of something as scary as Alien in the MK. I agree with them.
Sadly you could say that about a lot of things.
RIP the terror theater. Now we wait for something better than stitch.
Still want alien encounter back or at least something x-s related.
I think someone reported earlier in the thread that feedback from some guests was that having it was worse than having nothing. How do they justify leaving empty spaces? It's ridiculous. The sad thing is all four parks need more and they panic having to close anything, yet they leave empty buildings and restaurants. It's just so sloppily run all over the place.

With such poor reviews it makes sense to close it unless you are desperate enough to need the capacity, even though many guests will be less satisfied with their visit having tried out the attraction.
What panic, btw?
Do you think they might bring this back to the table if they can't think of anything else? I kind of liked the proposal, however, I am biased as I actually love WIR and am excited about the sequel. I hate empty spaces and it'd be a real shame if something isn't put here by the 50th anniversary. That should hardly be a problem for the worlds top creative company. The WIR format had a lot of potential. I don’t know if it was appeal, IP or story that let it down. Technically it was a sound proposal. Aside from the VR version. IMHO.
They should put in Alien with modified restraints. Guests pull them down with the assistance of cast membersDo you think they might bring this back to the table if they can't think of anything else? I know many liked this attraction but I went on it at 8 and it was horribly terrifying to me. I remember not understanding the water that would hit you in the back of the neck was in fact just in water and I just closed my eyes and wished it to go away. So the 8 year old in me says no thank you to a reboot of that. They should put in Alien with modified restraints. Guests pull them down with the assistance of cast members
They could track the magicbands of the guests with age restrictions.I know many liked this attraction but I went on it at 8 and it was horribly terrifying to me. That’s an AWESOME idea!I'm not saying it will come back or it should, in any of the parks or another version that's the same style... alien turned into stich as an example.. but I wonder if they could make it where you could choose how much of a thrill you get. The DBOXs have where you can adjust how much your chair shakes in movie theaters. It would be easy to have a switch that either turns on effects or doesn't, or if you pull down the restraints (they aren't for safety) you get the full experience if not leave it up. You could still get the sounds just not the water or shaking or (I don't remember I rode stitch once and never will again regardless if they open it seasonally)
NRJ isn't a dud. Not everything has to be an E-Ticket attraction. It's a great ride for families with really little kids, and it's also a good ride for seniors. Little Mermaid is also a great attraction for family with little ones. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor is one of my all time favorites, and my 2 first-timer friends thought it was absolutely hilarious! Toy Story Land is much needed in HS, considering the only thing relevant and entertaining for the 8 year olds and under are Little Mermaid and Disney Jr.
Your ideas of "duds" are not relevant to the majority of people. You should have listed, say, the Up! bird show and Path of the Jedi. THOSE are duds. None of what you have listed are duds. The only argument you can make is NRJ, but only because it's not worth the current wait time. If it was between a 5-30 minute wait daily, it wouldn't get so ridiculed. Nobody stomps on 3 Caballeros for an even less experience.
true but I know older people that don't like that aspect and take the easy route at mission space (without having motion sickness issues) they just like to relax and enjoy. They could track the magicbands of the guests with age restrictions.
I say second because it would count as free advertising for the new movie (or new-ish depending on when it opens) and because incredicoaster's story follows the incredibles 2's plot involving the family discovering jack-jack's powers. I could imagine jack jack burning up into a flame, causing the power to cut out in the room some how and air effects to give the illusion that he is bouncing across the wall and the other incredibles are trying to catch him.
It's genius now I think about it. If disney isn't thinking about this option, I don't know what they are thinking about (hopefully alien encounter related, but that will probably never happen).
EDIT: I'm totally gonna make a imagineering thread on this idea now.
EDIT 2: Done
Starring Captain Link Hogthrob, First Mate Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork!how about something based in outer space....
we could sit in pods ala star tours
screen based
maybe an animatronic
ip already owned.....
yep you guessed it
PIGS IN SPACE!!!!
In all fairness given the numerous warnings perhaps it wasn’t the best attraction for an 8 year old to experience.I know many liked this attraction but I went on it at 8 and it was horribly terrifying to me. That begs the question.. should the magic kingdom be more geared to all ages rides/attractions while the other parks can have rides that are more adult. With 4 parks that is kind of my feeling. While I love the magic kingdom (second to epcot, although they are trying to change my feelings) they have the capability to do that. I am not saying height restricted, that's a different thing (space mountain, soon to be tron) but theming wise shouldn't things be more kiddie safe. ID love to hear peoples opinions. In all fairness given the numerous warnings perhaps it wasn’t the best attraction for an 8 year old to experience.
