Stitch has gone CRAZY!!!

IF it did happen, much worse things can happen with a line break. Fortunately, it's not the same pressure as a fork lift mast. I witnessed a line break on one of those in a warehouse when the mast was at 30 feet. The cable sheared through the rack like butter, at which point the rack just started peeling forward, dumping pallets and pulling more rack down. The mast buried itself about 6 inches in the floor. Best of all, no one got hurt - it was the fastest I've ever seen an equipment operator move...

I don't know. I'm skeptical of this. Besides the fact that its Screamscape, I highly doubt, compensation or not, that we would've heard about this somehow. I'd be curious to see if it's really true or not.

I'm not sure I fully believe this one but I do recall a time when the sprinkler system went off on Star Tours and everyone was soaked before they could get the ride stopped and the people off. I think they were rather well compensated for their inconvience.

When I was there in June, the robot in the first room was spraying hydraulic fuel all over the first row. I thought we were going to blow up. Everyone thought it was part of the show, but I knew that that wasn't supposed to happen! I had to go get a CM and they were like "OK" like it happens all the time or it wasn't a big deal. Then I told someone else and they started freaking out and asking where so and so was. So we were all escorted out. I I liked Alien Encounter better because it was kinda almost scary. Now it's just kind of bland I guess- which was the intention, to tone it down for the kiddies. Kids would probably like it more than adults.

No, it was hydraulic fuel! You know the robot police guy (or whatever he is)? He is seated at a keyboard and he does the experiment with the orange scruffy creature. He popped a tube and the ____*t was flying everywhere. The entire first row of people standing were hosed down. I still have stains on my $40 purple mickey polo. And all I got was a child switcheroo fast pass thingy. It may have scarred me for life. Or at least gave me an anti-SGE phobia!

While in this case it wasn't the actual Stitch animatronic, I knew I remembered hearing about a similar story involving this attraction.

The stitch animatronic is based of the A-100 series Animatronic. It is not fluid, it is servo controlled with what WDI calls resistance. Fluid and air creates jerky movements, and slow jerky movement. Fast movements such as stitch, the wicked witch and the new johhny depp AA's requires servos. ..... I was on a team there during the install and have seen stitch naked so...

Hey didn't someone on these boards tell us about this, in a trip report or something if I'm not mistaken..? I am almost positive I have read this story on here before and that the person was given a hard time because the story seemed so unbelievable!

Yes someone did. I'm almost positive I already knew this story, but I remember reading it in first person. Someone was recounting it because it had happened to them. :lookaroun

EDIT: Sorry - didn't see the link above!

Me thinks possibly we have just found who called the "information" into Screamscape...

NO WAY would it happen the way this was written. Find me one CM that would see fluid being sprayed on ANYONE, and respond "it happens all the time".

I have seen this AA leak hydraulic fluid as well but it wasn't spraying all over the guests. It was leaking from his left shoulder and coming out with very little pressure forming a rather large puddle of fluid on the ground.

Wow...stitch naked...that's disturbing. jk.

Anyhow, It could happen, but I somehow doubt it. I thought most of the AA's used Oil pressure, but I could be wrong.

Guys you did do your own investigation and got to the bottom of all of this. As for me, I am surprised to see this pop up from something that happened weeks ago.

If it actually happened at all. When I read about this incident this morning, images of Stitch shooting our hydraulic fluid from his mouth and fingers just filled my head, and unfortunately, I couldn't stop laughing. If it is really true, then it isn't pretty funny, but if it isn't then this has just become the highest Disney myth on my list!

Well as you might guess, none of the AA really exploded all over the place

I know hydraulic fluid in commercial aircraft is under tremendous pressure. 3000 psi to be exact. Not sure about AA figures.
