I don't think he should count because the movie he was in had non-Disney songs in it. :animwink:

Forbes is wrong.
The "Princesses" are an assortment of characters, not a single character. Remove them.
Power Rangers are live action, have been around for years, remove them.
Nemo is Pixar. Remove him.
Buzz is Pixar. Remove him.
Stitchfan712 seems to enjoy changing the rules to fit his story. No matter what stats and numbers you throw out, he finds a way to try and twist it around to fit his arguement, since he can't come up with any market numbers or statistics on his own. The only thing Stitchfan712 has presented thus far, is personal opninions and assumptions and nothing more. No real hard evidence to back up his claims.NemoRocks said:Haha, you're a funny guy....
Disney Princesses are owned by the Walt Disney Company, so yes they do infact count....
The Power Rangers are a huge franchise which is also owned by the Walt Disney Company, so they count as well.....
And finally, BUZZ AND NEMO DO COUNT BECAUSE THE CHARACTER RIGHTS BELONG TO DISNEY.
Why must you go on with your excuses?
Or a lawyer!!:lol:TikiBears said:Stitchfan712, you would make a great politician!
General Grizz said:I don't care who counts - just get the Power Rangers off that list. :hurl:
WDWScottieBoy said:Haven't you heard about the new Power Rangers ride that will eventually be the new craze in all of WDW and we will only see them in merchandising and no more Stitch.
Sorry Grizz, I had to do it!

Stitchfan712 said:I just find it interesting that despite the forbes figures and whatnot, Stitch is, despite what you all say, a big seller for Disney, and is regarded as the 3rd most popular character, and this was known BEFORE Lee's post...I only used his an an example of another person who has heard similar.
Granted, this IS what I have heard. Mixed with some observation as I've been to the pin events for stitch and bought the new releases and seen stuff sell out at near impossible rates whenever it has Stitch's name on it.
something is clearly going on.
That's why I'm sticking to this argument, even when the facts you are presenting tell a different story than mine. Somewhere, somehow...you're wrong!
I would add that with the Cast, Stitch merchandise is a top seller... at least as evidenced of the mechandise that keeps running out at Company D stores. Latest is the lanyard with Stitch holding a nametag (a bite taken out of it, of course). The pin with similar design remains in stock... less popular I think because it doesn't show the detail the way that the lanyard does.Stitchfan712 said:I just find it interesting that despite the forbes figures and whatnot, Stitch is, despite what you all say, a big seller for Disney, and is regarded as the 3rd most popular character, and this was known BEFORE Lee's post...I only used his an an example of another person who has heard similar.

Don't forget you are a huge Stitch fan - not that you had to be reminded - and because of that you may pay more attention to Stitch related material, so subconsiously you may think he is more popular then he really is. Also, Stitch is a unique charcter and sticks out because of his personality. The facts show that Stitch may be the third most popular character in disney over the past few years, but not the third most popular fictional character overall.Stitchfan712 said:I just find it interesting that despite the forbes figures and whatnot, Stitch is, despite what you all say, a big seller for Disney, and is regarded as the 3rd most popular character, and this was known BEFORE Lee's post...I only used his an an example of another person who has heard similar.

But as some people have said, a monorail speil and wake-up call are too much for them. How much can be tolerated is all dependant on the individual person.Stitchfan712 said:That, right there, is ALL that I'm trying to prove!
Not that he's the third most popular, period, just the third most popular DISNEY character and for that to happen in just two years is remarkable. He is becoming a modern icon. And yes, that can happen in 2 years, but it also has to last. We'll see if it lasts, but the potential is certainly there. The ball is in Disney's court right now to not push him harder than they already are, because as some of you said, and correctly I might add, that the character can burn out.
The public wants him, disney responds to that demand. But it shouldn't over-do it. Right now, it's about right in my eyes, they should not push harder in WDW.
DLR, however, could use some Stitchification still. There's room to expand. WDW is Stitchified enough, and I enjoy that when I go down there. but that's me.
And we are waiting, but until there IS fact your claims are heresay. I will bet you money that Kim Possible will be pretty high on the list for Disney characters, and it is possible that she might beat Stitch out. The Incredibles most likely WILL be higher than Stitch.ALL I'm saying is that he's the third most popular within disney. That's all.
And people are fighting me tooth and nail on it.
Why? It's a fact. The forbes magazine doesn't account for it...because they are looking at ALL characters, and, it's 2003 earnings...there's a lot more merch in 2004 for stitch than there was in 2003 and most of that merch is selling very fast. Again, wait for the 2004 figures to come out.
Nobody has said that Stitch isn't popular, stop saying we are. We ALL agree he's popular, however we think he may not be as popular YOU speculate he is. THAT is why we are arguing with you about it. And the 2004 DON'T count because they haven't been released. Guessing doesn't count for anything now, and that is ALL you are doing with the 2004 numbers. Why does this make perfect sense to me, but everyone is arguing with it. You don't think the 2004 figures count? I am absolutely mindboggled that anyone could think Stitch isn't very popular, or only became popular within the last month. I don't mean to be rude...but that view really is incorrect!
Way to discredit your aunt.I even spoke with my aunt last night who really doesn't care for Stitch, never has, never will, and thinks I'm wasting my time with this stitch stuff, and also was frustrated when I dragged her to the theater in 2002 to see the movie (she didn't like it, she had decided she wouldn't before she even saw it, so LS never had a chance with her).
That is what we have been saying. Why do you think we disagree with Stitch's popularity. Read what we are saying and stop assuming things.Anyway...I told her about this argument we're having here....even she, an anti-Stitch, says "Even I know that he was popular before the ride...everyone knows who he is, that didn't just happen in the last month. I haven't seen any disney movie become this popular lately, as much as i wish it wasn't happening."
PurpleDragon has presented her side of this argument, and I completely agree with her. However, despite the fact she disagrees with you DOESN'T give you the right to assume things about her.But now that I've brought this viewpoint up I expect PurpleDragon to come back saying "so now you're running to your family saying "he's picking on me!" what a childish thing to do."
It seems is a lot like a lot of other Disneyana fans. Any-who.No, I was asking someone, who clearly dislikes Stitch and would rather see him and his franchise disappear off the face of the earth, what her opinion was of this argument and presented both sides.
Even she says the Stitch popularity factor is higher than she's seen lately for new disney characters. (No, pixar is not disney to her, either.)
This is a huge disneyana fan. Her parts of the house are packed with pooh and one stuffed figment. She used to go to see every single new disney release, but doesn't anymore, because she's expecting CRAP. Anyway, thread drift.
Stick to your guns all you want, but until the numbers come out (probably in Feb) you are going to continue looking like a stubborn kid who speculates and ignores facts. And even WHEN the numbers do come out... don't expect Stitch to be higher than four.I do not know where PurpleDragon and Nemorocks are coming from. But I don't agree with you. I think the facts prove your point for 2003 perhaps, but not for 2004 and the present day. Stitch has caught on and is spreading like wildfire, and you're leaving out the figures for the last several months to more than a year of sales and earnings from the character's franchise.
I want to see the 2004 numbers. Then we'll see if I'm right. Till then, lock stock and barrel, I'm sticking with my guns.
