A remake of War of The Worlds. Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning (child star from I Am Sam, Man On Fire, Cat In The Hat) will star.

Tagline: They're Already Here.

According to some banners at www.ign.com the teaser is comming out tomorrow.

Just thought this was interesting and I hope it will be Speilbergs bounce back from some of his latest movies. His UFO/Alien movies are some of the best movies I have ever seen.

Interesting side note: The WotW is being filmed in VA right now and they have had some, err, problems. It seems they have lost some manikins used in filming. How? They got reports from the police that locals have seen dead bodies floating down river! They lost them in the water!

War of the Worlds Filming Moves to Athens

According to WSTM, filming of Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, starring Tom Cruise, begins today in the Greene County village of Athens, NY.

The news channel says the scene to be shot will feature crowds fleeing a Martian invasion and will include a 168-foot car ferry. Athens was chosen because of its riverfront location.

Last Friday, Cruise and Spielberg were on set in Naugatuck, Connecticut filming scenes for the movie.

Paramount Pictures is releasing War of the Worlds on June 29th.

Hmmmm Spielberg has this Tom Cruise fettish....

Lets just hope this is better than "Minority Report" was. Dont get me wrong... I loved Minority Report. But I always thought that it was lacking in areas.

I am looking forward to WotW. Hopefully Spielberg and Cruise can hit a homerun with this one.

Whatever happened to the Spielberg that directed Jaws, Close Encounters, ET, Raiders, and Jurassic Park? Hopefully that Spielberg is directing this movie!

Trailer is very cheap and poor. I am really dissapointed as I was hoping that when someone came to make it they would set it in the same period as the original book.

The trailer makes it look like another cheap Independance Day clone.

No, if its direscted by Steven Spielburg, then John Williams is 100% garenteed to do the music.

The trailer looked interesting. It looks like it will be a great summer flick. Geez, there are really alot of films comming out next year! There's gonna be, King Kong remake, Hitch Hiker's Guide to the galaxy, Narnia, Cars, Chicken Little, and War of the Worlds. Should be great! :sohappy:

Don't forget Star Wars, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Batman! Next year is REALLY stacked! It's like everybody's just emptying out the vaults next year!
