Only a thought... but none of those movies are original scripts. Where's all the creativity gone?

The third star wars is original.

Nemo, I think you're right. It did seem pretty creepy. The last scary alien movie I saw was Signs, and its gonna be hard to top that one off.

Well, technically they are original scripts. They're just based off of pre-existing characters. When talking about loss of creativity we use as an example the direct-to-video projects that Disney has out for every animated movie ever made. And the sequel's sequels. And the sequel to the sequel's sequel. But we don't talk about them here. We do have our dignity, after all.

And really there are very few movies made nowadays that are not based on pre-existing characters, especially when you read through all of the summer big guns. Just about all of them are based off of a pre-existing book or movie.

P.S. Please do everyone else a favor and never mention the direct-to-video sequels again. I promise I won't.

Don't forget Star Wars, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Batman! Next year is REALLY stacked! It's like everybody's just emptying out the vaults next year!
And possibly the American Theatrical release of Godzilla Final Wars, assuming Sony decides to put it in theaters or that another studio(WB is interested in it going under the New Line banner) picks it up.

I am seeing it at the Midnight movie the night before!
It's already opened over here! But I've been too busy to see it yet. The critics have been mauling it. However most seem to say "they took a bad stage show and turned it into a bad movie", so they don't appear to have gone in with an open mind.

I'm still a bit worried about the Phantom's singing voice. What I have heard so far has not been too promising. But I will reserve judgment until I see it all in context.

Well, if they didn't like the stage show then of course they aren't going to like the movie.

Saying Phantom was a bad stage show though is Broadway blasphemy.
