Starbucks at WDW

I apologize, looking back on this thread it appears that I have made the same argument about a gazillion times. It has been so long ago that I had forgotten that I had done that, so if my response seems like something you have seen before...you are right.
That's what happens to you old people. You retype the same argument over and over.

Unlike us youngsters. We copy-paste our arguments over and over.

Sadly, that was a chemically induced odor designed to make you want a baked item. Not real! Just like you don't actually smell oranges on Soarin, just a chemical mix that smells like oranges.
Seriously though, did MSB bake their own pastries or not? If not, I wish SB would get off their cheap butts and buy some of that fake "fresh baked pastries" smell.

I didn't work there, in fact, I have never even been it the place. But I did read about the "fake" smells coming from the bakery specifically. I do believe that they had warming ovens, but no full scale baking ovens.

I was in Starbucks in Epcot 2 weeks ago. I decided to go with one of the few Disney treats in the case. I wanted to treat myself to a delicious decadent chocolate cupcake. That's how it looked anyway. It was absolutely disgusting! Pure sugar frosting, dry bland cake. At least I know Starbucks will be good!

 You mean Rome's not really burning on SSE? ;)
Just to be as nit-picky as everyone else is...it's Alexandria that is burning. Assuming I am understanding Dame Judith when she is saying it. Anyone know were Alexandria is/was? Is it anywhere near the Phoenician alphabet?

You misheard that. She says 'Alex and Dria are burning....with desire'. The last bit is a bit muffled to protect the children. It is a line from a play by Aeschylus, part of which they show earlier in the Greek scene. This is also why the burning Rome smell was removed, because it makes no sense in the new narration anymore.

Classic Greek philosophy holds that the truth and beauty are one, the above being a gorgeous Greek explanation means it therefore is true.

Damn, excuse me. I wasn't being nitpicky about anything.

Thank you for clarifying. I must have caught a case of the stupids. :geek:

I don't think most people are unhappy with Starbucks. Fine add Starbucks coffee. Starbucks pastries are everywhere. We are unhappy with the destruction of the Main Street Bakery. It was a favorite of ours. Breakfast croissant. Cheese Danish. Someplace to sit in MK for breakfast. Afternoon break with someplace to sit. As someone said.... add Starbucks but don't eliminate the old favorites.

Agreed. The bakery was one of our favorite stops on the way out of the park for almost 20 years. The variety and quality of the items for sale was incredible. Slowly, but surely, the variety decreased, then to some extent the quality as well. Starbucks is not the problem. WDW management being squeezed to produce a bigger profit is the problem.

Had my first visit to the Starbucks at MK this past weekend when we were at MNSSHP. It was wonderful! Smiling CMs giving excellent service, quick and easy, not to mention delicious. Mom and I both walked out with big smiles.

You can use Starbucks Gift cards (on phone and physical cards) , earn your rewards, etc. The only thing you cannot do is redeem your rewards. :)
Yeah, it's me digging up old info and threads... Is this still accurate?
I just combined 8 Starbucks GCs and have quite a bit on one card now (practically two seperate lunch meals for two, in SB price ranges!), so with he penny pinching and saving for our trip, I thought it would be good to be able to use this while we're there, if we can. If not, I'm sure there's a few Starbucks elsewhere we can find somewhere on our trip... Maybe.
