Starbucks among other new vendors at Disney

as I have been saying , I don't mind sponsorships, If Starbucks became the official coffee of Disney that would be fine. I just don't like a Starbucks stores in Disney specifically the one on Main Street. The same as I would not like a 7-11 in Disney or a Taco Bell store in Disney. It dilutes the Disney Image.

Is it more that you are upset MSB is gone instead of SB being here? It doesn't really ruin the look and feel of main street... It seems like it's more that you're mad the food from MSB is gone, not even the atmosphere. So maybe making the arguement you're mad SB is here is wrong and harder for people to swallow; especially sense you said you don't mid the other locations so much...

Just my observations about this thread :/

It's not really outsourced though, just franchised, all the staff are still Disney CMs.

Technically, you are correct. Just replace "outsourced" with "franchised". I stand by the rest of my comments. I have no problems with Starbucks coffee, although I personally don't like it. Had the MSB been left the way it was and just switched coffee brands, it would not have been a big deal to most people, including me. This is more about the change to the quality and types of non-coffee items sold than it is about the coffee.

Yes it the fresh baked goods that is the rub, not Starbucks itself. The baked goods made it the main street bakery, if you don't make bakery items there its not a bakery. If they allowed the SB to make fresh made items it would make sense. Now it makes no sense and its a loss of quality baked goods.
Plus the old bakery items were good and fresh , now we have shipped in pre packed everyday items that can be found at any conveience store or SB in America..

IT'S NOT A SPONSORSHIP. What happened there is the removal of a Bakery and insertion of a franchise coffee store.
an entire different thing. It should be called the Main Street Coffee Shop now, its no longer a Bakery the focus is Coffee Drinks not Bakery items. They bake nothing there now.

Maybe they should change it to The Place Which Until Recently Was The Main Street Bakery And Is Now A Travesty Of Justice That Sells Starbucks Coffee?

Main Street Coffe House might be the best alternative name.
yes I think that would be best and solve the issue. Or the Main Street kind of a bakery but not really a bakery because a corporate giant sold out to another giant and could care less if it makes any sense.

earlier in this thread I posted the email address of the Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz . I took the opportunity to email him about my displeasure with the Main Street Bakery changes. As expected from the quailty company they are I received an email and phone call response from them a Mr. Chris Little who is in charge of the Disney account.
They do understand the concerns and apparently they have heard this complaint from different ssources. They will work to see if there can be some changes in the future. I feel they are sincere and will try to address things as time goes on.

Ok, that sounds like a lot of corporate buzz words, designed to placate a complainant. My question is, did they say exactly WHAT kind of changes they might be working toward?

he was very nice and did not mention specific things but regonized the problem. He said they toyed with changing the name of the bakery since they no longer bake products there, from MSB to something else but thought that would mess with the Main Street tradition. He also asked if I would mind if someone from Disney also calls me.
That was about it other than they are hearing complaints from many sources.
Check my earlier post I posted the email address if you want to add in your constructive complaint they are vey receptive and maybe we can get some things changed.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I refuse to set foot in the Main Street Starbucks. Bring back the baked goods!
We also refuse to go in there either even though my DH is a huge Starbuck's fan. He agrees the one in MK just does not feel like it fits esp knowing what was there before. RIP MSB. :(

Now, I had a Starbucks gift card on my last trip, but I made sure to use it at the Epcot location. I will not patronize that abomination on Main Street!
