What is up with you guys and Dunkin? Was in NH and there was one ever half mile!
The Doughnuts at Dunkin are pretty good. Not great, but they have a great variety.(my opinion is a bit skewed as we have a local doughnut shop that is smack your gandma down awesome)

The best thing about Dunkin is the coffee. It is hands down the best coffee out there. Even better than Starbucks in my opinion. It is consistently smooth with no harsh bitterness like many of the others.

For me to find better coffee out in the wild I would have to drop $6-$8 a cup on one of the few places that have 100% Kona beans.

I think we can all agree that Krispy Kreme donuts are terribly overrated. "Oh, but you have to eat them hot!" Bullstuff. I ain't heating up my oven to enjoy a donut. The "best" donut should be delicious at any temperature!
A little. I am not going to turn my nose up at KK when they show up in the break room, but I have also never deliberately purchased them either.

Yes, yes, yes!! While 'Donuts' is in the name the coffee is what makes them

While I'll concede that KKs are at their best right off the conveyor, they are not worth writing home about. Air and sugar that's about all you get from a KK. I do prefer KK donuts over DDs but KKs coffee is just horrible, even worse than Starbucks.

to bring the average quality donuts of KK and DD into this conversation about the MSB is Blasphemy!! I guess it tells you something about the American taste buds. But I also see even the Starbucks supporters don't mention their cakes so they must not really believe the stuff they have been saying about Starbucks..

At least many Krispy Kreme stores prove & fry their donuts in-store.

so then you agree with me that the Starbucks on Main street should be making their baked goods on site. If KK can do it I'm sure Starbucks or Dsney could also.
Just as I'm sure you'd agree that the MSB started having their baked good delivered from a central bakery....

Yep KK came to my city and within a year it closed! We have a delicious local donut chain that frankly no other national donut shop chain or local shop has been able to beat or compete with. I have tried others here and while traveling, and keep going back to our local shops called Meche's Donut King. :hungry:

If you never use Starbucks and never went into the msb then it's not something you should comment on because you are not familiar with the items that were lost or the changes that took place. If you are a purist then this should concern you as you stated.

Sir - please do not tell me what I can and cannot quote on. As far as franchising, McDonald's used to run fry stands in the parks and I was more bothered by seeing the Golden Arches in Frontierland than the Starbucks logo on Main St. They closed MSB. Oh well. Life moves on.

Dunkins is to Boston what Starbucks is to Seattle and Tim Hortons to Canada.

As for donuts themselves - they were 3x larger than they are now back in the day (as in 30 years ago).

Starbucks' Scones (both cinnamon and blueberry) are quite tasty. I would happily pick one of those if I were in need of a treat while on Main Street.
