Starbucks among other new vendors at Disney

One last point to add: I sincerely doubt that the items sold in the MSB were all baked fresh in the bakery itself. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (someone who actually has facts), but I just can't believe that.
It was an actual bakery prior to Starbucks. Most of the items were baked there save for the cakes per a friend of mine that worked there from 2006-2007, but that fact is largely irrelevant. Starbucks "bakery" items are typically pretty good. I would say a notch or two under what I would find in a local bakery, but not so much that they are inedible swill.

MSB was also a mass production bakery which would take it, IMHO, a notch below a smaller local bakery.

Gotcha - wasn't sure about that. I have no problems with Starbucks' bakery; having lived in France for 4 months, I can say that their croissants are pretty spot-on.

lets get back to the basic point, the takeover of the MSB by Starbucks and the loss of the fresh made baked goods and seating. If you care then you will contact both companys if you don't so be it and you will move on to other topics on other threads. I love the coffee I don't like their cake line in comparsion to what the MSB servered. I love Starbucks coffee, I love the company, I don't like the change on main street to a national franchise found all across this country and the loss of a Disney main street unique operation. Will this be the first and last or the beginning of a trend. Enough said, if you are happy with Starbucks God Bless please move on to another thread if this bothers you, as so many of you have stated. Those that care and are not apethetic will comment on it and try to do something about it if possible.

you lived in france for 4 months and have no problem with Starbucks baked goods, they must have thrown you out of France for a statement like that , those people are fanatics when it comes to bread and pastry. You give the impression living in France for 4 months gives you license to validate packaged cakes vs French Pastry. I was taking you serious for awhile now I know all of your post where just to stir an argument.
How did France come into this discussion anyway.

And some will comment on it either way. Nature of an open discussion forum....

And you're truly the last person to remain on topic....

All I said was that the croissants are pretty good compared to some of the ones I had in France. That's it. Take a chill pill.

You see, croissants come from France. They were also one of the bakery items you said we no longer as good. It would stand to reason that the probability of them having good croissants in their country of origin would be high. That is how France came into this discussion and how someone that has lived in and consumed croissants in their country of origin would make his/her opinion more valid than someone that has only consumed croissants from the MSB in WDW.

Just like if we were talking about bratwurst. It would stand to reason that someone that had lived in Germany for 4 years might have a pretty good handle on what good bratwurst was.

It is also worth mentioning that America has a habit of changing food items from other countries to suit its own tastes. When it comes to pastries, we tend to make things sweeter. What you might have in mind to be a great croissant from the MSB, might not be an actual croissant at all, but some Americanized facsimile of one where as the one from Starbucks was an accurate representation of a croissant from France.

Bratwurst was not the topic. It was an analogy.

It will be a trend when Casey's becomes a Nathan's and the Plaza becomes a Panera - which ain't gonna happen.

I will admit, I was concerned about this when first announced. But after seeing the result, I have no complaints. I don't really drink Starbucks, and never visited the MSB when it was there. I am a bit of a purist. But considering (as others have said) that corporate logos are all over the parks if you look for them, this is not unique, and completely inline with what Disney has done in the past. I just hope your future vacations are not irreparably ruined because of a cinnamon bun.

And I still think it should have been a Dunkies. We New Englanders must be represented!!! Hey - that's a great idea for Liberty Square (shhhhh - don't give them any ideas).

Like I said before this is not a corporate sponsorship like others we see around the park. Starbucks is operating their full business model there. I don,t know of any other franchise operating their full menu in the parks. If you never use Starbucks and never went into the msb then it's not something you should comment on because you are not familiar with the items that were lost or the changes that took place. If you are a purist then this should concern you as you stated.

A "purist?" Hopefully they're more of a realist....
