3. There is serious talk of the Autograph tents around the Lake going away. Someone proposed moving the autograph locations indoors & management likes that idea. Current info says they will be using the old Idol Audition Rooms (3 rooms behind Idol by Commisary Lane). Those rooms would get a SWW overlay, and the prevailing thought is they would use the Queue for Idol Theatre for those waiting for Autographs. Instead of going into the theatre, guests would be led through a door at the bottom of the queue then down the hall to the autograph locations. This way people waiting in line would be in the shade and in an area with circulated air.
Thanks for the info, I figured with what happened with last year's sessions (Ratz and Jeremy Bulloch requested to be moved inside after their first days due to the heat, Ray Park's session was moved in because of the rain), it would be sooner or later that they'd kick the tents to the curb permantly. Will be nice not to bake in the sun in-line.

Did you happen to hear if they were considering alternate distribution methods for the autograph passes? After this past year's event, I sent guest sevcs a letter asking them to utilize the FP+ and MDE system to avoid the need to camp out in the middle of the night to get an autograph ticket, but just got the normal "We'll take your suggestion under advisement" response.

Also curious if there will be any promotion of TFA at this year's event, either via guest appearances or merch. Figuring not since it will probably be reserved for D23 and Celebration. Safe money is on more Rebels,

However, an article posted yesterday suggests JJ Abrams is pleading with Disney Execs to reconsider the release date of the film and making it a Summer 2015 release again as they had originally posted. It will be VERY interesting to see if he can make this happen. I know many SW fans want to keep with the tradition and having a May opening, and if the director feels like the film will be ready by the summer it could change the deal for how SWW is promoted...or as Vader says "I am altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further"
Not a chance in heck. Summer 2015 is Age of Ultron and there's no way Disney releases two top-5 all-time box office films anywhere near each other.

Yup. What's more important in the coveted May slot? Avengers or SW? Doubt it happens, as ISTC pointed out, that's only 3 months to finish post-production.

It's inconceivable for a whole variety of reasons.

It's a nonsense rumor. Fanboi wishful thinking. Nothing more.

Edit: A site that reported the rumor has recanted already: UPDATE: A source inside the studio has told us "There has been no serious discussions about changing Disney’s December 18th release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Meh...Disney's already shown quite a bit of disregard for any Star Wars "traditions" by resetting the canon (at least Lucas grudgingly accepted the EU names for Coruscant and Kashyyyk).

Why honor the release date that persisted for almost 30 years?

Can You Feel the Force? Star Wars Weekends is Getting Closer!
Photo-1-613x919.jpg

The Force is growing stronger here at Walt Disney World Resort as the galaxy prepares for this year’s Star WarsWeekends. If you’re as big a fan of the annual Disney’s Hollywood Studios event as I am, you’ll be excited to learn that several crowd-favorites are back in 2015, including James Arnold Taylor! Known for voicing characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Taylor will host the Stars of the Saga talk show with everyone’s favorite stormtrooper preshow at a new, larger location in Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard.

Darth’s Mall is also moving to a new and expanded complex near Streets of America, where you can find Star Wars-themed and exclusive event merchandise just for Star Wars Weekends 2015.

One of my favorite out-of-this-world experiences to catch this year is the Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine. My day just wouldn’t be complete without dinner surrounded by my favorite Disney pals dressed in their Star Wars best!

The galaxy won’t be so far, far away when beloved and iconic Star Wars characters assemble and “Summon the Force” each night for a grand celebration, including a look back at your greatest moments throughout the day on social media. For the finale, the night sky will erupt in an interstellar frenzy of fireworks as “Symphony in the Stars” salutes the saga’s most dramatic stories and brings you as close to the Force as you can get.

We’re still gathering all your favorite droids and scoundrels, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog andStarWars.com for the latest updates. As we announced in December, the fun comes to our galaxy Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 15 – June 14, 2015. Check out StarWarsWeekends.com for all the must-know event details.

Here is a question: How open is the Theater of the Stars? I have never seen the Beauty and the Beast show, but if its open like I think it is, what are the plans in case it rains?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but according to the Hub press release, Darth's Mall will now be at "Final Take Terminal" near SOA. Is that a new name they just made up for this or is this a location that I've never heard of?

Shouldn't be a problem. Open on the sides, but covered above. I don't believe rain has any impact on BatB, so I don't think it affects SWW.

I for one am fine with the big tent they put up between ToT and RnRC. It works well logistically and they are not trying to shoe horn it into a building too small for the traffic it gets.
I am 100% agreeing with you. I grew tired of bumping into people every chance I wanted to turn around in that tiny little place. The tent was way more spacious.
