When I'm in WWoHP and hearing the same small selection of very familiar themes from the films for the umpteenth time that day, I wish there was no music. Playing the movie scores is NOT immersion, it's just a constant reminder of the fact that the movies exist. I would like to see more ambient noise in SWGE and some original ambient music here and there but the last thing I want is the familiar themes blasting endlessly.

That’s more a fault of the music loop not being long enough as opposed to there being a music loop. SWGE is very much the exception instead of the rule at Disney Parks, Main Street USA, Magic Kingdom entrance, Innovations Plaza, Tower of Terror courtyard, World Showcase, etc all have very distinct music loops that I’m sure you would recognize the moment you heard them. If I was to throw one critique about the HP loop is that due to people lingering there for long periods of time and the individual tracks being much longer then songs in music loops are (4-5 as opposed to 2-3) people feel the loop repeats itself too much, since they are working with movie soundtracks that are longer they should have made a 2 hour loop instead of a 1 hour loop.

Was it really a disaster of a launch? I mean the pay off is incredible. It’s simply the most technically challenging ride out there. Of course it’s going to take time to figure it out.

Maybe I’m just used to it. On broadway shows we test out and sometimes have to stop shows during the first month when the show is so technically difficult.

But Hagrid is worth every little delay.

But is it, though? While Hagrid's is a fun ride and getting pretty ubiquitous reviews from those who've ridden it, it's still a pretty run-of-the-mill modern steel coaster w/o any inversions. Vertical rollback spikes have been used for over 30 years, motorbike seating for almost 20 and vertical drop tracks for 10. Plenty of coasters with multiple launches.

To me, Gringots is much more technologically advanced (if not as satisfying an experience in comparison).

While I love Star Wars, I'm even more a fan of Star Trek (if you couldn't tell from my handle). This dude spends most of his time trashing current Trek and is vile trash. Unsurprisingly, he is also quite active with the Fandom Menace. It's safe to say that if he (or Midnight's Edge, Geeks and Gamers, Nerdrotic or EVS) posts anything, the reality is quite opposite.

The most launches, multiple switch tracks which switch faster than any other coaster, and incredibly detailed theming. A coaster hasn’t put all the tricks together in one pot like this before.

they (Imagineers) are currently cutting the front door horizontally to make it ADA compliant, on all 30 ride vehicles (DL - but I assume WDW too). Why they didn't think of this when the cars were ordered, boggles the mind. ADA riders are required to xfer into the ride car but as you can see the door opening is not ADA compliant. The top half will be hinged to open like a car door (hing on the right instead of the left) and the wheelchair/ECV can get close enough to allow the xfer.

PROBLEM is... the doors work like pocket doors and slide into the side panel. They have "re-imagined" the doors several times from what I hear and seem to have finally figured it out. PROBLEM was... the hinge might pinch a guest when xfering. I suggested a piano hinge. No idea if they took my suggestion or not.

Never been on the ride but I saw POV videos it looks like a great ride but it seems is just a coaster to me.

Get out your speculation spectacles: I’m guessing the sliding door has been split into a lower sliding door and upper sliding door, and perhaps there is a mechanism that, when locking the bottom half, pushes up some kind of pole inside the lower door to transitively lock the upper half.

That may have been the easier way to hack an already-built vehicle, but I imagine if they could build new ones with ADA in mind they would have simply designed the entire height of the door assembly to swing open.

I'm starting to think that people also got way overhyped about this. And I've found that when ever the hype got huge and expectations with it, nothing lives up to that.

Maybe that's why I tend to be happier than many at parks. I very purposely try to set my expectations low. And then I'm usually happily and pleasantly surprised.

It's also one reason I'm avoiding most videos and photos about the land. So when I do see it in 2 weeks, it'll be my experience, not comparing it to everyone elses.

Thanks to the Disneyland forum on this site I had very low expectations for this and ended up loving it. Looking forward to my next visit in November.

I've said it before, I'll say it again... There is literally nothing Disney could have built on this planet that would have met the expectations that the phrase "Star Wars Land" conjures in the minds of fans. Could they have done better? Sure. But no matter how immersive they made it, even if they delivered everything Iger and Chapek said there'd be, it would still be criticized for falling short.

Yeah. Earlier it was mentioned that Disney "got it right" with Cars Land. Well, its easy to nail a franchise that, at the time, had only one movie. Star Wars is a 40 year old franchise with 10 films (that are a wide range of styles) and endless other shows, novels, video games, toys, etc. Everyone already had pre-conceived notions of what a Star Wars land should be, and nothing, absolutely nothing Disney could have settled on would have pleased everyone.

I actually do think Hagrid's is an extremely fun ride, but its theming that doesn't even live up to the precedent set by Hogsmeade itself. The creature that looks like a mechanical bull with a rubber suit around it? The giant wall with trees painted on it instead of proper physical theming? The scarcely themed drop track portion where it's clear that you're in a big open room with infrastructure visible? The views of backstage and infrastructure? The fact that it looks more like a sculpted garden than "The Forbidden Forest"? I'm pretty sure the Forbidden Forest isn't just identical evergreen trees in straight lines.

Hagrid's is the best new ride in Orlando in recent years along with Flight of Passage, but Uni fans are overhyping it's significance to the theme park world. It boasts a few firsts but is not a game changer. There are better themed coasters that have opened recently. Even 40 year old Big Thunder Mountain slaughters it in detail and immersion.

I am assuming ROTR doesn't have dedicated loading for guests with disabilities as this would have meant only the dedicated vehicles would have needed adapting?

Why would all vehicles need to be ADA when only a very small percentage of people need ADA transfers in a day? Why not just a few cars like every other attraction?

..right. There was a thought of 3-4 ADA vehicles but then what if they are all in the show area? Then ADA waiting might be waiting a while. Hence they needed to retrofit all 30 cars.
