And since (correct me if I’m wrong), all of ROTR will take place away from prying eyes of anyone who is walking by (you’ll only see a queue of people), how will that inject the “life” and “excitement” into the land for the people who find it dull and lifeless currently?

Smugglers Run takes place all inside, so you get no kinetic energy from that.

Oga’s Cantina is a lively place but nothing can be seen from the outside.

It seems from the people who have issues with the land, live entertainment and nothing but live entertainment will fix the issue, correct?

I know they are not mutually exclusive and of course I’d want both. But having awesome attractions is priority numero uno for me. Everything else is the cherry on the sundae.

Let‘s just hope Rise is as amazing as they say it would be (and how it looks to be). Then hopefully we will get the droids, and more characters and interactivity as promised.

Can you imagine the outcry if ROTR opened with that kind of downtime? The pitchforks would be out. No sense in rushing what seems to be the most complicated theme park attraction ever created.

But when you are 2nd fiddle in the market, you are given much more leeway.

Yeah...it opened, and then they closed it over and over again. No one talked about that disaster of a launch since galaxy’s edge opened. So no, it’s not in a worse state.

Now I haven’t ridden it yet, but I’ve heard incredible things. That however, doesn’t excuse the fact that lots of guests never got to ride it. You could have the greatest attraction in the world but if it isn’t operating it doesn’t matter.

I’ve literally never heard anyone want a ride to open NOW and they’ll live through the growing pains because “it will be worth it”. Makes zero sense ing off your customer base and causing operational headaches simply to rush something to the market.

When SWGECA had their press show and they had the fight between Vi and the First Order - that was exciting.
When SWGEFL had their press show and they had the live Hondo walkaround character - that was exciting.

Yeah this land need more kinetics for sure. I grew up with the OT so I am obviously in the minority that it really doesn't matter to me what characters are in the land or who is/isn't there. I'm not upset Vader or Boba Fett are not there. I am happy for a world dedicated to Star Wars. I'm kinda tired of the same old OT characters everywhere. New stuff is refreshing.

How boring would the films have been if they only had Tatooine, Hoth and Endor... in every film. That's it. There ARE other worlds out there.

But ROTR cannot open. It cannot run.

Hagrid can run, and did run.

I don’t think it needs to be said, but perhaps some people don’t understand there is a point when something mechanical and technically involved needs to leave the rehearsal stage and move into operational stage. This is the period where crews work insane hours to perfect the system.

Hargrid’s was at that point they needed to operate the coaster.

ROTR is still months away from being at that point.

Also, who did it screw over? It’s insanley popular. The world cannot wait to ride it. The reviews are all solid.

Of course, no one wishes for such technical problems. But when you’re pushing boundaries, you gotta face those challenges.

Also, just to note, it seems splash mountain at Disney world has been more than Hagrid lately.

That wasn’t a technically involved accident. A stage hand did not secure the tether which resulted in a fall. The fall was not during a flying sequence, or related to automation.

While Hagrid had exceptional downtime, we must be reasonable and expect delays during RotR’s opening days. Like every new ride. At least there won’t also be weather delays.

Yes! On opening day we were walked off Falcon.

Didn’t hurt me any! They created a very involved simulator. It’s apart of entertainment that it takes time to perfect.

"Here’s the 411 for you, dlr never had the concrete ripped out, the issue they had was the rebar and filler materials interfered with the rfid tags, the installer couldn’t drill down deep enough to install them per specs, the unload area was also too bumpy for the vehicles and had to be redone "

But Disney said things would be there. Then they cut those things. That’s not hyped. That’s literally being lied to while collecting your money.

EXACTLY. Expectations are EVERYTHING. If they don’t meet it, people are crushed and suddenly it sucks. Go in not knowing what to expect and you can end up being pleasantly surprised.

I’m kinda glad in hindsight that DL opened first as there wasn’t universal (pun intended) praise. So it helped me back off my insane expectations.

Anytime in life I’ve been SUPER hyped for ANYTHING, nothing has ever met it, NOTHING (music, movie, attraction). Then after the emotional state calms down I’m able to properly judge something.

ROTR may not be open yet,but if I am right SWGE was not going to open til end of the year at Disney world.And ROTR and hargrids is not even the same type of ride.
