Images - John Boyega filming scenes for the escape sequence. Your ride vehicle will load into an escape pod and be jettisoned out of the Star Destroyer and crash back to Batuu.

..in the Special they show physical FO Troopers firing but I'm pretty sure that';s just for the special. My source has always maintained they are projections.

I’ve counted more than 34 people here on this site who say the lack of OT makes SW:GE a failure. (I’m perfectly fine with ST). I agree Disney needs the masses to be happy, but it seems like the few vocal fans can have a pretty big impact on public perception.

It would be. The point is that saying, “Look, we added Stormtroopers!” won’t actually appease the fans who are upset at the lack of OT. They have been consistent in SW:GE in keeping everything ST.

An objectively fantastic ride would silence them. Folks voraciously argued Pandora would ruin DAK until it opened, was gorgeous, and most loved FOP. It’s been quite successful for DAK’s numbers. The issue presently is MFSR is not viewed as jaw-droppingly good.

Sometimes you can be silenced if everyone else is loud.
Presently perhaps 5% are loud and negative while the other 95% say “it’s okay” timidly.
If the other 95% were shouting, “it’s the best thing since the Mickey Waffle!” the 5% would be ignored.

Pandora has an amazing ride...and than a boat ride that I have never been on since previews. Pandora is well done but the land isn't what sells it its the amazing ride. Hopefully ROTR is the same.

Agreed. If RotR fails, we won’t see any further investment in WDW for a decade or more. Nor would I honestly blame the Board.

Sadly this is closer to the truth than hoping they rely LESS on IP investment like I would like. I dont want ROTR to fail im far more glass half empty on this because imagineering always seems to get it right but bean counters rip the heart out. I hope that isnt the case here. Smugglers run is so meh for me even though tons of people like it star tours feels like flight more and I know falcon isnt a true simulator with real motion but it sort of erks me that star tours to me is more exciting than brand new ride system x.

IMHO Smugglers run *might* be better if they would add the other 2 missions, so at least there's more of a re-ride factor. You can only do the same old mission so many times before it's not worth it.

Have you heard anything about the other missions for Smugglers Run? I do find it a little concerning that they used to speak openly about having more than one mission, but have been silent recently. Are you able to comment on their development at all?
