Have you heard anything about the other missions for Smugglers Run? I do find it a little concerning that they used to speak openly about having more than one mission, but have been silent recently. Are you able to comment on their development at all?

..yeah been eerily silent. Maybe all hands on deck for RotR right now. That's my hope. Maybe after RotR gets going they will get back to it. I know the other 2 missions dealt with a space monster (like 'SOLO') and a race (like podracing but with the Falcon) but no word - I'll ask today and see if hear anything at all.

That’s too bad. I was hoping this scene would be a practical set with animatronics.
I feel like they showed video of some animatronics on the ledge, so maybe it’ll be a mix. I do have some concerns about this feeling more like Gringotts than Shanghai Pirates in certain areas.

Judging by this picture by @SWGalaxysEdge I’m assuming Hux isn’t in the ride and this first order officer is...

Maybe they planned for it, but Gleeson wasn’t available on the day they shot for the ride.

Seems like these Stormtroopers will be on screens:
415735

Now that I look at this screen grab from the SW:GE promo video, they really do look like the hologram effect used in the Forbidden Journey queue. I think that one is done as something of a digital Pepper's Ghost effect using the Musion Eyeliner system.

I'd hoped ROTR would use animatronics or actors for this, but if these scenes only last a few seconds, I guess screens make sense.

Yes
If they look realistic from a distance, which is how they'll be viewed... I could care less about screen or AA.

I thought the first Navi on the boat ride was an AA for a while...

Bingo. It really comes down to how the effects are used. When people are on the ride no one is going to be wondering “is that an AA or a projection effect?”. They’re going to be hopefully enjoying the experience. Except the handful of people grumbling that it’s not Vader and OT storm troopers of course.

If they used Oompa Loompas instead people might get confused?

Oompa Loompas would be welcome. They're a bit alien like. Would be a welcome addition to Batuu

There are stormtroopers in Tomorrowland?

Well, there were. How did you miss that?

My point was theres a whole lot of Stormtroopers. But Stormtroopers aren't the Star Wars Experience.

The Jedi are. Or at least should be.

Rey is a Jedi.

Which other Jedi did you expect?
And after Ben and Yoda die, how many Jedi are left in the OT (no points for EU or characters that don't appear on film)?
The OT largely focuses on one Jedi as the others are killed in the much-maligned PT. As much as I’d love to see Frozone with his pink lightsaber, I doubt that would fix this.

Oh sorry y’all. Forgot Galaxy’s Edge has so many rules and regulations.
