Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

At this point, they have to realize that advanced bookings of Fastpasses are generally stress inducing not stress relieving. The fact that they have an alternative system for these two attractions tells me that there's at least a chance that there is a different plan, other than rolling new rides into the existing system.

Well... they dropped BGs with the initial opening of SWL and MFSR as soon as they no longer needed it. So, I don't think they're too wedded to the BG/VQ system.

I believe their thinking is such: By having a VQ with two types of BGs, namely, the main group and a back-up group, they can minimize having to give out park hoppers and return-fast-passes if the ride breaks down. They do this by having a main group that is very likely to ride, even with break-downs. And if there are indeed break-downs, well, then, at least they got that first group through and no compensatory freebies need to be given out.

And then, if there are no break-downs, then the back-up group can ride.

Thus, I foresee them having VQs until ride stability is very high.

Also, it would make sense that when MMRR opens, to put that on VQ and then put RotR in the top tier FP.

But, that's just my guess work.

The fact that they have FP lines and signs ready to me is more of an indication that FP+ will eventually be offered. I think HS will end up with three FP tiers: T1 = SDD, ROTR, RnRC, TOT; T2 = SR, A.S.S, Frozen, M&MRR; T3 = Star Tours, B&B, Indy, Mermaid, Fantasmic

I would bed T1: SR, M&MRR, RotR T2: everything else

SDD would be a better candidate for Tier 1....

I still don't envision MMRR garnering the attention and demand that we're seeing with RotR. RotR is going to be the headline in all of WDW for the forseeable future. MMRR is going to have interest for sure, but I don't see it topping RotR in the sense that RotR won't need to operate via VQ.

Personally, I'd be surprised if we saw 60 day FP+'s distributed for RotR in the next year. MFSR has been out for 4 months, draws a very reasonable crowd, and still no FP.

I think MMRR would have that interest specifically because of RotR and SWL and the rest of DHS. Such a high concentration of E-Tickets that are mostly family friendly (as opposed to the old DHS whose E-Tickets targeted teens and adults). People have an even greater incentive to have a DHS-day in their itinerary. Thus, higher demand. Also, the Mickey IP is more accessible than the SW IP.

Obviously Mickey is iconic and I'm excited to check out the ride, I just think it's hard to compete with RotR when people are saying it's one of the best attractions in the world.

That, and the new Mickey cartoons (on which MMRR is based) might actually be more divisive than The Last Jedi. I anticipate a lot of people boycotting the ride.

This just in: It's been reported that they will indeed overlay SWL with the most popular aspect of the whole Star Wars franchise, that is, The Mandalorian.

The Falcon will be removed and replaced with the Razor Crest, and you get to pilot the Razor Crest with Baby Yoda as your co-pilot pushing buttons in an unhelpful manner. Then, in Rise of the Resistance, you'll help the Mandalorian rescue the Baby Yoda with the help of other Mandalorians. The Dark Side of SWL will be run by bounty hunters, and the light side by people in desperate need of protection.
...Yes please.

The capturing is fantastic, especially how we exit the vehicle through the same door we entered. I love how so many riders think they’re smart by standing near the opposite doors, and then find themselves last to exit. It plays off of guest expectations very well. One of my favorite parts, possibly favorite part, of the attraction.

My biggest issue is with the storyline. Apparently our outpost on Batuu is no longer safe, so we’re escaping to Leia’s secret base somewhere else. But then in the end we’re celebrating the fact that we escaped back to Batuu. Which is still not safe. So we accomplish absolutely nothing? And are still in danger?

Yes you are still in danger. Especially if you take the gondola when you leave the park.

Talked to my first compulsive contrarian about the ride today. They said "it's boring, it doesn't do anything new, it's all screens." When they said that "Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin does more", that's when I knew they were full of it. Not surprisingly, they're one of the people who swear up and down that Hagrid's is a game changer and "tHe MoSt iMmErSiVe RoLLeRCoAsTeR EvAr", It's amazing how much people will delude themselves when they want to hate something.
